One of The Tribe
Wow! Scott County really beat Sayre! I cant' believe it! This is so shocking! Seriously! Did anyone really think this game would be close? Yeah. Classy move on Hick's part for driving up the score. Maybe he'll be fired like the Texas 100-0 girls coach was ! What kills me is their fans go crazy like they're really doing something when they win games like that !:dancingpa

What is he supposed to do?

But, I'm sure that as awesome and talented as Hicks is, he could figure out some way not to beat a team by 60 points ! :isurrender:

Fastbreak
Is the Barber kid from SC ok? Listened to the radio and they said they had to stop the game for about 5 minutes to clean up blood off the court. From what i gathered he had a bad cut on his head? Robbie got drilled following an offensive rebound with a nice ball fake, all the big boys left their feet. He was going up to shoot as they were coming down and caught a hard elbow to the top of the head as two Sayre defenders came down on him. He may have also hit the floor with his head. The refs swallowed their whistles, the play continued to the Sayre end of the floor. Barber attempted to continue play but pulled up at half court and turned for the SC bench. He had a nasty gash on his head that required several stitches and a concussion... but no foul. I realize the refs wanted to get this one over and get home, as did everyone else in the building... but not calling obvious fouls results aggression building and kids getting hurt. That, IMO is one of the main reasons referees are there in the first place. They let this one build. No good excuse for it. He will be out a few days to let the cobwebs clear and to patch up. No way did Coach Hicks intend to run this score up. He played the whole bench, with the starters seeing only about two quarters of total PT. The fourth quarter score was 21-9 with SC's third five on the floor.
JPP
I can see them swallowing whistles on questionable calls at this point, but its a shame they let it get this physical.

If what you posted is accurate, which I am confident it is, that is more than gracious in post season.

Qryche11
This is why they need a mercy rule in HS. Once a team gets up by 40 you would think they would just let the clock run. What do they think they are going to come back? Ridiculous.
