Top Players in the 9th Region?

That would be a shame if she doesn't play because she might be a better college prospect for softball than basketball, where her lack of height doesn't hurt her.

Courtney is just an all around great athlete. I bet she could be really good in track as well. I sense she has a passion for basketball though but I could be wrong. Just a Junior so time will tell.

Understand the size factor, however from what I understand she has alot more colleges interested in her for basketball. She is only a junior so you never know:idunno: I think her passion is basketball though.:jump:

I doubt Courtney will play SB, but her HS coach is very flexible to allow for her spring/summer hoops schedule. She plays for a, or the, top summer hoops program (IMHO) and many doors will be open for her at the next level...beginning in April. The size factor won't be an issue. Courtney is quite the HS Bball player, but until you actually see her and some of these kids compete in the off-season at the highest level...there is no way to appreciate how good some of them really are.

Polls, lists, HS stats, and opinions are a lot of fun...but thank goodness they mean diddly squat when it comes to getting an opportunity to compete at the next level.

Courtney plays for the same organization that helped expose these young athletes last year:

Casey Jackson - NDA - Youngstown State

Tessa Elkins - Lakota West - Murray State

Alexis Rogers - Lakota West - Duke

Moriah Hodge - Glen Este - Indiana State

Jacy Bradley - Boone - Saint Louis

Kelsey Sharkey - St. Ursula - App State

Gabby Smith - Mt. Notre Dame - Vanderbilt

Talk about a fun team to watch! Expensive but fun....played at Chapel Hill, NC, Knoxville,Louisville, Los Angles etc.

and Atlanta :)

Abby Janszen may be the best all around athlete in N. KY.

She should also be on this list.

Leading scorer in N. KY soccer.

State champ in 400 meters in track.

Outstanding basketball player.

You may want to look out for Ellery Kring in the next couple of years as the best all-around athelete. She played varsity soccer for Conner this season. She started varsity Basketball for Conner this season. She played varsity softball for Boone in 6th and 7th grade and started as an 8th grader for Conner last season. This is a freshman with a bright future.

Anyone have insight on Moss for the future of her HS time?

I saw something about POY in an earlier comment and understand the D1 comment and I would like to add that "IF" SK gets back to S16 and "IF" Tolliver breaks Male / Female scoring record at SK and "IF" (this is an optional "IF" because I do not think it matters) she signs D1 there should be no question about POY in NKY this year. Tolliver (IMO) :jump:

Great student, athlete and person! They all are!

Once again, there are some great athletes in the 9th region playing multiple sports. IMO, there is no way to compare athletes that play different sports. This is not meant to take anything away from the Kring girl!

Courtney has received interest from D 1 schools, that said she has played for two very good high school basketball coaches, they both have said kids can play to much of one sport, enjoy your High School years and have fun.

It can be too much, but it depends on the kid. In the end, it will be her choice and she'll be fully supported either way.

The 8th is not very competitive so is there any doubt SK will make it to Diddle?

Every parent of a program is understandably biased. In the end, when the coach’s vote for “their” top 10 players in each division, including POY, they take into account a much bigger picture than box scores. They have scouted these players for years and prepare a game-plan each night…so they know them better than all of us and know what they bring to the table.

Sorry panda…agreed, this is a 9th region thread.

How does Sandfoss' game compare to Bradley's and to Jackson's?

They are off-season teammates and "best of friends". They are 3 completely different players with different strenght's & weaknesses (apples to oranges)...IMO

The apples to oranges is what I was looking for.
