I've left the party

Case in point. If the Libertarian party starts to gain ground it will be w/ mostly Republicans. By the time that would happen there would be a 20 year run of Socialist...I mean Democratic Presidents and Congresses.

Agreed.

Republicans running off to the Libertarian Party will only ensure that the Democrats will stay in control for many years. Few Dems will ever consider joining the Libertarian Party. Almost everything the Libertarians believe in would cause most Democrats to not sleep for weeks.

What's the problems with Dr. No?

Heck, I didn't vote for a presidential candidate this time ... maybe it's a sign of old age creeping up on me, but I wasn't all that thrilled with either candidate.

If I didn't have to register as a Democrat to vote in local elections, I would probably register as an independent.

"the correct Republican if there ever is one is elected"

Your quote "IMO, there is no such thing."

Appears that you are saying there is no such thing as a Republican who could be right to lead. That's how I took it and I believe there are too many people who simply vote the R or the D rather than listening to the candidates. I believe that is a major problem and seems to be growing.

Thank you.

Apologize for what may seem a partisain statement. My observation is that too many people, as you say, vote for(or against) the lablels rather than educate themselves on the candidates or issues. I think personally that a person cannot expect a correct candidate, because of our dominant two party system. The two parties have broad stances, but I would hope not too many people totally agree with every stance(but I should know better:ohbrother:) I think a search for better candidates and stances that fit individuals better has led some people to leave thier particular party for a better alternative and the Libertarian party has become that for some people.
