He has the ability to, but the work ethic needs to be worked on a lot to get him to play at the highest level every minute he's on the floor.

True, I think some of those bad habits could have been put to rest earlier, had he been with a coach with an eye for developing talent.

The most overlooked thing I've noticed about Timmy Knipp is how long his arms are. He extends out and plays alot taller than he is. He blocks shots like a 6'10" player.

Could we say that Yao Ming (7'5"), blocks shots like a 7'9" player?

Having long arms might give him an advantage to block more shots, but it doesn't change the way you block a shot. A block is a block, MSUEagles didn't seem clear on his point.

And the longer your arms, the easier I would think.:thumb:

Al Horford was one of the better shot blockers in America in the two years that Florida was dominant and he was only 6'9. Longer arms enables you to play bigger than you are. Shelden Williams was the same way while at Duke. Timmy is 6'7, but has long arms, which makes him able to play taller than he really is.

T. Knipp is definetly one of the top sophomores in the state, but I wouldn't go as far as saying he's the best in the state. There are some very good sophs out there and honestly if T. Knipp were at GRC, I'm not too sure he'd start over any of those sophs. (Stenzel, Purvis, Rogers, Zollo)

 

The good thing about it though is he has two more years to develop in to what he's being hyped up to be. If I had to compile a list of the top sophomores in state, in no particular order:

 

Fant- Warren Central

Shanklin- Warren Central

Stenzel- GRC

Rogers- GRC

Purvis- GRC

Zollo- GRC

Arnold- Holmes

T. Knipp- Elliott Co

Barksdale- Tates Creek

Fucci- Tates Creek

Setty- Mason Co

 

The bigger question is will he finish his career at EC...10th region seems like a logical place for him to end up, if indeed he decides to leave....I think a few close to the situation know what I'm talking about.

I think its pretty clear that if you have longer arms and a longer wingspan, that its easier to block shots. If Yao Ming's arms were 4" longer, I'd be more than happy to say that he could block shots like a 7'9" player.

10th region is the most logical place IF he decides to transfer out.

You stated that he blocks shots like a 6'10" player. I would think that no matter the size, all players would block a shot the same way. :thumb:

If your list holds any weight, then GRC will be tough in the next couple years.
