62nd District Tournament

Featured Replies

That may be right. I just remembered the 2-2 votes for years that didn't allow seeding (but I would say you are right about the majority to change the setup).

As far as Morgan being unhappy with East, the way I understand it (and please correct me if I am wrong), East's assertion that their showcase loss in Lexington WAS a tournament game played a major role in the original brackets. It wasn't until after Morgan petitioned KHSAA to clarify the definition of a "tournament" that the district had to be decided by a coin flip. If I am wrong on this issue, please correct me.

The KHSAA was sent the schedule and they were the ones that determined it WAS a tournament. East just sent schedules in to have records determined for them.

You are partially correct. East argued that the Commodore Classic was a 2 day event and shouldn't count but did not provide any false information as earlier reported but the KHSAA made the ruling then (correctly I might add), reversed the ruling after further information. Why would that make Morgan any more at East than East would be at them?

I understand that East did argue that the Commodore Classic was a 2 day event and shouldn't count but did not provide any false information as SOME people said, the KHSAA made the ruling after looking at schedules and later (and correctly I might add) reversed the ruling. Why would Morgan be any more mad at East than East would be with them. I've heard the AD's met and talked it over with no hard feelings either way.

Actually, just like everything else, the coin flipped had issues too. The coin was flipped and allowed to fall to the ground. However, it landed vertical on the leg of a table in the room. One rep suggested to move the table and allow it fall. The other representative asked to call KHSAA for a reversal. End result.......

 Is that true?

From what I have seen of all four of the 62nd district members, it should be a dandy of a tournament! I think that EC will either beat East in the first round big or it will be a close game. Coach Baker is the best coach in the 16th region in terms of X's and O's and he will have his boys ready to play.

In the second game, Morgan and West, I'll take Morgan, West started the season out strong beating some pretty garbage teams IMO and have faltered in District play; their peak was the Elliott County game in Olive Hill. Morgan County has begun to play better and I think they move on to the Regional Tournament in Morehead

I knew we'd find some common ground!!

I agree with your assessment of each of these teams. I must add though that Elliott will come out victorious against east no matter what the score difference.

 Is that true?

Just a posters way of making fun of the 2,3,4th place teams in the district.

Well, thanks for clearing that up. Glad the AD have communicated.

It's a curious thing... that's for sure!
