Does anyone collect Maker's Mark bottles?

Featured Replies

The Mint Julep cup thread got me thinking. I have a friend who has hundreds of these. I honestly didn't realize how many different ones they put out until he started collecting them. The only one I really want is the hand dipped one he got when he toured the distillery. To me, the rest seem like a waste of decent whiskey. :D

Dude...It's bourbon.

A friend of mine use too. Not sure how many he still has. He has/had some cool ones.

I've got the hand dipped slam dunk bottle I dipped myself at the distillery. I have 3 Keeneland Bottles and I have 4 UK bottles, the one with the legends on it and the blue on top of the red UK/UofL Rivalry, the 1998 Championship and the 1996 Championship. The others are a waste of good fluid IMO. LOL Not too mention everyone one of them cost a lot.

I just collect whats inside the bottles.:banana:

Have you visited the distillery?

I have two of the 1996 UK ones after they won the Championship. I also found a bottle of Jim Beam in the basement. Don't know where it came from or how old it is. We have had it for 20 years. It is a diamond shaped bottle and has a reproduction of a Rainbow Trout painting by James Lockhart on the front. It says it is one of three different paints that he placed on Beam Bottles. The other two are of a Largemouth bass and a Sailfish.:idunno:

We have had other special Makers bottles but sometimes you just get a little desperate and next thing you know, they are history.

I collect them, not what's in them. Use to collect what's in them until I had a bad "REACTION" to the contents a long time ago.

Just checked on ebay and the UK 1996 bottles goes for around $60.00 and the Jim Beam Trout bottle goes for about $10.00.

Anyone have one of the Jim Beam UK bottles they put out several years ago?

I have about 40 different ones.
