Pike is 6'4 ?

 

He's in the 6'3-6'4 range. Pretty sure he's as big as JJ.

Dixie will struggle to score against Holmes athleticism and size. Unless they catch fire from outside, I don't see them scoring more than 42 points. Holmes will have their way with Dixie on the boards which will lead to a lot of second and third chance points. I'd be very surprised to see Dixie keep it within 11 points.

 

 

 

Holmes won't score 80 against Dixie. Henley has too much class to let Holmes beat Dixie that bad. Holmes also doesn't run an uptempo enough offense to score 80 in a game. If they left the starters in the full game, I could see it, but Henley wouldn't allow that.

This raises a good question maybe not in this thread but do you think that coach Henley will employ a full court press at some point in the tournaments? With their length and athleticism I could see this being very effective against a lot of teams leading to some easy breakaway dunks. Your thoughts??

Doubtful. Holmes doesn't really have the depth this year to press like they did last year which is why we haven't seen it. I would like to see Henley atleast start out the game pressing though to see how it goes. Maybe he's saving it for later in the season. :sssh:

I am sure Henley was happy to get out of there with the W but he used that game as a coaching tool. Holmes will be ready to go, they will not look bored, they will play with a lot of intensity on both ends of the court. Dixie is playing the best team in the state at the wrong time IMO and this has the potential to get very ugly.

Holmes coming off an ugly win and Dixie off an ugly loss. I feel sorry for Dixie tonight. Scott hopefully woke the Bulldogs up. Holmes by 20 plus.

I agree as well... and I also think that since Dixie lost to Lloyd that might've been a shot to their system in the wrong way for them. They probably feel a bit deflated and lack the confidence to come near giving Holmes a good game.

 

Eta... when I originally said last week that the Bulldogs have 8 tough opponents in a row starting with Scott, Dixie would've fallen near the end of that pile that I'd be worried about. With the present circumstances I wouldn't worry about them at all. Not one bit.

A lot of coaches will work on new things this time of the year to prepare for the tournaments and don't want to tip their hand too early. I like you would like to see some press thrown at teams at times. Let's hope. I do think they could be effective and feel it could make them even better defensively. It sure could make for exciting dunks!!

Just got word that tonight's game is cancelled. Not sure when it will be rescheduled.

Wow, thats a shocker to me, they played last week in the mess, this doesn't seem like enough to cancel the game.

I just got word that the game will be cancelled tonight and made up tomorrow night. Didn't get a time on it but it will be tomorrow. Kinda upsetting news to me, I have to work tomorrow evening and was off today, I was planing on attending. A inch of snow and the buses don't move at Kenton County schools though ha ha ha.

Holmes by 5. To many costly turnovers will keep the game close. Holmes must cut the turnovers to win by 10 or more. Than again if their A game is on a Blowout.
