Mason County 63 Campbell County 48

Featured Replies

Mason County started 0-8 from the free-throw line. Only when the CC band started chiming in during the second half did the Royals start hitting their charity tosses. Maybe they need some of that "boink, boink, shoot" all the time - it seemed to help.

As Setty and Pawsat have emerged, Middleton seems to have stepped back some over the past few games(stat-wise)

I thought that Mason County got a BUNCH of easy baskets in this one. Two putbacks on missed free throws, plus several layups. Maybe some of that can be attributed to Albrecht's absence.

Lots of foul trouble for the Royals tonight; in addition to Middleton's woes, Downing picked up two early ones, sat the last 10 minutes or so of the first half, and eventually fouled out (right after Franzen).

Always nice to put a face to a BGP username. I wish we had had more time to chat, but yes Mustang, LaRosa's was tasty as always.:thumb:

Mason has a nice team, but I hope that they learn to not overreact to every foul that is called on them. They always had that look of.....no way can you call that on me. I guess with success it breds some sense of arrogance but for an outsider looking in, it looks bad. I did not see that in earlier years, just with this group. A lot of whinning but then they are young.

Mason fans, good luck with the rest of the season, get ready to leave work early, load the car and drive over here this year. And maybe have a few more meals at LaRosa's. :)

A bit of a sloppy match. Both teams showed the effects of being off for the best part of the week.

Setty played with better intensity in looking to score than the previous games that I had witnessed where he was somewhat passive. He was the man tonight both inside and outside (Three 3s that I know of) and was the recipient of some great assist work. Middleton was strapped with foul trouble and spent most of the second half taking in the game from the sidelines.

Jolly, Nerl, and Ben Franzen did their best. Petey Albrecht went out just before the half with what appeared to be an ankle injury, and didn't return in the second half.

Hopefully, this weather situation will straighten up and we can get back to some semblance of normalacy.

Any update on Albrecht's injury; that could figure big in the region if he's out very long? Not totally surprized by the winner, but the margin--Mason seems to really be peaking at the right time; and with Clark's injury bug, might be looming as the favorite on the region? Still think Campbell will be in the 10th region picture, as will Scott.

Good win for Mason espically after being off for almost a week, practices gets old and you just want to play against someone other then the 2nd stringers. Sounds like Setty is really emerging and could be a major player for the next couple years espically next to Pawsat.

Nice win MC :thumb:

It is hard to understand from an outsider what we expect from our kids night in and night out. They are not complaining to the officials, they are upset because they were not in position defensively when the foul was called on them. Mason County prides itself on defense..... and that is what wins CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dancingpa:banana::fight::scared:
