The start of the Touchstone Energy All “A” Classic has been delayed at least three hours due to the winter storm that has caused havoc, not only with travel, but also with power outages and a dwindling water supply in Richmond and Madison County.

 

The girls’ portion of the small-school basketball tournament was supposed to tip off Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. at EKU’s McBrayer Arena, but event organizers have delayed the start until at least noon. And that is no certainty. Tournament organizers are meeting Wednesday morning to discuss what to do.

 

All of the 16 girls’ teams are in Richmond. But parts of the city are without power, and the city’s water supply is low.

If all the teams are there in Richmond, about a mile or less from the gym, why not?

 

Good point, but there's got to be people like my wife and I who planned on going down this afternoon and aren't going now. I know it's not ALL about the $$, but it is a big part of the All "A".

There are four games before it, starting at noon. Best guess is somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 p.m.-7 p.m.
