Really do you think that East has a better resume at this point than Rose Hill? East has 3 less wins and 4 out of their 9 wins are against Rowan, Fleming, Boyd, and Russell. Not exactly murders row. I will give them quality wins against West and Morgan. I'm just saying that it's not like East has beaten anybody either.

 

Rose Hill has half of their wins against teams that are not exactly murders row as well, Paintsville (twice), Cornerstone Christian, Boyd Co., Manchester OH., and Wolfe Co. I think they are capable of beating East, West, and Fairview but those three would have to be having bad nights. JMO.

You certainly have a valid arguement with East and West but I don't think that Fairview is better than Rose Hill. Plus I would have to put Fairview and Ashland right together given the point differential in their games.

Yes. It was early in the year and anyone will tell you that Rose Hill has improved quit abit since then. Plus if my memory serves me correctly I believe Rose Hill played that game without Terry and with an injured Kennedy.

 

If you think Fairview has to have a bad night to lose to Rose Hill then you are sadly mistaken.

West Carter is the # 2 team in the region.

 

Maybe. I don't think they should be ranked higher than RH or East. They rely to much on Rayburn, a sophomore. He is a very nice player though, but I think he's to young to pack West further than the first round of a stacked district.

I would have to put West #2, followed by East and Rose Hill. While the Hill has a fine core of young players, they were just not impressive at all in the "A" finals and the guard play is mediocre at best.

 

In the All "A" I think Elliott made everyones guard play look mediocre. When you compare RH guard play to the rest of the region I think they are solid. Maybe not flashy or superstars, but definitely solid. Don't misinterrprut this as me saying they are better than anyone else. That's not what I'm saying. I just think when tournament time comes RH's guards will be able to hold their own within their district and region(excluding Elliott). Remember it was the pressure defense from these same guards against Bath that enable RH to come back and win...... That's just one mans opinion.

Elliott's guards can certainly do that to you. When I saw Rose Hill play I thought their guards were more than good enough for them to win. Like you said not necessary against Elliott but certainly against the rest of the region.

Based on records against 16th region teams Rose Hill should be no higher than 5th. They did beat Bath and Ashland so I would put them 5th.

East 9-4

Ashland 7-4

East isn't the team they were 2 weeks ago, Rose Hill isn't the team they were at the beginning of the season, Fairview has their kids back healthy. Records against region teams don't amount to much IMO. I'd rate teams higher who are starting to come together right now versus the ones who reeled off a couple of wins at the start of the season and now have hit the wall. Of course that's just my opinion.

Spindoc, that doesn't seem to matter. The only thing that matters to most is how closely or not someone played Elliott.

 

I can assure you my opinion is not based on "how closely someone played Elliott." I have seen East and West play other games besides Elliott County. My opinion is based on the season, not one or two games. My season is also based upon the attitude and heart that the teams play with. East has seemed to have issues this year involving chemistry and identity. The conquered these problems for one game. It remains to be seen if the issues have been put to rest. If so, East will quickly move to the second spot in the region. West plays hard and aggressively every night. They will be a tough draw for anyone in the postseason.

Good post this does help to shed some light on how you rank teams 2-7. also what spindoc said it is more important how someone is currently playing as compared to early Dec. Saying this Friday I don't think will show if East has turned the corner or not since they will be playing Boyd County.

Outside of Elliott, it's a coin-flip.
