I've said it elsewhere that the economy will keep him from ever being considered great, even if somehow Iraq ends up a success. It happend on his watch so he's got it. If Jimmy Carter had brought peace to the Middle East he would never be considered great for the same reason.

Doesn't change the fact that Clinton let it go for years while they built up their capabilities. Obviously more could have and should have been done by every administration going back to at least Carter's.

Not only is it overplayed it is simply wrong. Every American death in the Iraq is a price that we pay for Bush. It really doesn't matter to me that it is "over there" they are still our people and they aren't exactly safe.

Where are the attacks on our soil since 9-11-01? It was promised that 9/11 was just the beginning and the tip of the iceberg, so where are they?

I still find the he kept us safe thing overplayed, since the largest terrorist attack in our history took place while he was president.

I liked W. He did not make decisions based on a poll. He knew that the job of President is not to be the most popular guy in class, but to do what he feels needs to be done.

The recession was going before Obama took office. Now if he doesn't get it straightened out it will become his.

Agreed. Right now this is on the shoulders of Bush AND the most recent senate/congressional leaders.

Al-Qaeda was certainly dangerous and its upending is welcomed, but they were more than lucky to have pulled off the attacks here, even while our back was turned. What specific action by Bush has stopped terrorist attacks here that would not have been previously stopped?

Your question is worded in a manner that is impossible to answer, but I would say that the creation of the Department of Homeland Security has been a valuable tool in combatting terrorism on our own soil.
