Morgan County 52 East Carter 43

Featured Replies

Anyone know how the standing look at the point?

West has two losses

Morgan has two

East has three

I guess West looks strong for the two seed because they have already got their Elliott losses out of the way.

Morgan and East have split their games son those two may come down to point differential if there is a tie. Maybe someone could clear up the tiebreaker situation.

Both East and Morgan still have a game with West.

East still has a game with Elliott, right, cancelled because of ice!

Morgan County plays its best game since the 2006 season. Morgan really made the Raiders work defensively and took care of the basketball. Defensively the Cougars did a great job on Barnhill and also contesting the other shooters.

With Morgan holding a 13 point lead, I thought the Cougars stopped looking to score for about a 3:00 minute stretch and during that time East turned up the defensive heat and got it back to within 5 points. I knew the Cougars still needed to score points to keep East at bay and down the stretch they did and made their FT's.

Tyler Adkins played outstanding all over the court and IMO, Tanner Roy is the regions most underrated and unheard of Point Guard. Cameron Dunn had 17 points including a 25 foot bomb in the 1st half that seemed to set the tone for the rest of the game.

Turning point could have been Barnhill's missed donk. The Raiders had rallied and cut into the lead and had the momentum, however Morgan takes the rebound down and gets a layup and that might have been an AND1 as well, I forget.

Cougars clicked and played their best game.

DISTRICT TIE-BREAKER:

Here's the deal...If Morgan beats West Carter (2) times coming up, then Morgan grabs the #2 seed out right. IF Morgan splits with West Carter, and then West Carter beats East Carter one more time, then Morgan gets the #3 seed. If Morgan County loses both to West Carter and East Carter loses to West Carter 1 more time, and East/Morgan are tied, the third tie-breaker is OVERALL WINNING % Vs. all games on the schedule EXCLUDING TOURNAMENT GAMES (SUCH AS CHRISTMAS TOURNEYS, ETC).

So it would come down to winning % if they are tied.

Lots of hoops to be played to figure out the 16th regions toughest district.

But was I right in my post where I said seed 2,3,and 4 are still a possibility for West?

Here's a good one for you NETS. What if East beats West and Morgan and West split?

Congratulations Morgan County, this was a big win.

East Carter is having a rough first half of the season, I thought they were the pre-season number 2 team in the 16th. Seems like everyone has been beating them. They better get it together by the end of the season or they will be watching from the sidelines when the rest of the 16th is battling to make it to Rupp Arena.
