Hopefully those involved end up getting busted by Dog, Meth is a huge problem on the islands. We are glad you are back home in the Bluegrass.
January 12, 200917 yr Author I didn't think it was, but Nees and ms kitty both said they had money taken from the ATM. Apparently, there is a device criminals can use to scan your card and get the codes off of it. It appears that these "guys" were professionals. We did find out that at least one of the ATM's they used had a camera. So, we'll see if anything comes of that. Funny thing....the ATM they used was directly across the street from the police department.
January 12, 200917 yr Author This burns me up and I didnt lose a thing. It just makes me mad when people who are minding their own business, not hurting anyone, and they are violated. I hope they find them but I wouldnt hold my breath. Did your father lose anything of great importance in his brief case? Just some business related documents....nothing he didn't have saved on his hard drive at home....thank goodness! He didn't think there was anything that would be an issue.

January 12, 200917 yr Years ago our car was robbed when we were in Hawaii. My sister-in-law lost her purse. We had stopped at a tourist attraction and left the car briefly. The police said local criminals just sit back and wait for you to leave your car. They know how quickly to act and get away before you return to your car. Like fish in a barrel...... A place like Hawaii is the perfect setting for pros to take advantage of people who are feeling particularly carefree while on vacation. The worst about this is that they were bold enough to come into the house when people were asleep. That really creeps me out!

We were always careful not to leave valuables in the car...and we had commented about someone maybe breaking in while we were gone. We certainly never thought someone would come in while we were there. I'm just glad that no one woke up. It could have been a lot worse!

Don't let this sway your decision on that. It could really happen in any high tourist location. Just be careful. Definitely don't leave valuables in your car, and you may be better off to stay in a more secure location....like a hotel. Hawaii is a beautiful place! I will definitely go back someday.

I have to agree. I think the lesson to be learned is to be careful wherever you go on vacation.
January 13, 200917 yr My family and I went to Atlantic Beach Nc over the summer. There was about 10 of us that rented a house about 300 yards from the beach. The second night we were there I went out on the porch to get my dad a beer. My brothers car door was open I knew something was wrong. He had somehow left it unlocked. He went down to check his car. The guy went in his glove box and the center console. The piece of crap guy took his 7 year old son's sponge bob wallet with 20 bucks. My brother actually saw this guy about 100 yards and chased him. The cops came and everything. They said they are only looking for open car doors. The next night we were all getting ready to go to bed when my mom looked out the window. I don't know if it was the same guy or not but someone was trying to get into my uncles car. The rest of the vacation we were all on edge. We would sit out there in the dark waiting for them to come back. Stuff like that ruins your vacation. Miss Kitty Thank God your family is ok. We only went through that I couldn't imagine what you guys went through. I hope they find those idots that did that to you.
