When your team loses by 15 to a team that is less talented than you, I'm not sure that it can be considered a "nice job." The reason that no one was moving on offense was because the team was without the leadership of the senior point guard. If the team is not moving or doing the correct things then it is the coaches responsibility to make adjustments. Not pull out the Senior and put an even more inexperienced point guard in the game.

I wouldn't say they lost to a "less talented" team. I have seen both teams play several times, and I think they both are very inexperienced as a team. Both teams have some good players, with talent. I think both teams are on the same playing level right now.

I agree.:thumb:

Wondered why he was benched then? Is this the same kid that sacrificed all other sports to spend the Summer working with the Basketball Staff?

Anyone know if all Boyd's players will be available for next game? Any viruses still floating around or any injuries?

Wilson is still sick and so is Ginglesperger, but they don't play again until Jan. 3rd. As far as why the point guard was pulled, I don't know if you were at the game last night, but the kid would not even acknowledge the coaching staff when the change was made to give him a breather or because he had 2 fouls. Just acted p/o'd and went to the end of the bench. So, based on the other post I would say that's not very good leadership from a senior or a very good example for a freshman that replaced you.

:thumb: Tyler Boyles is the big difference. I believe that Boyles is the best guard in the 63rd district and one of the best in the region. He was out in the first meeting I believe.

This season, imo as Tyler Boyles and Cody Barker go, so go the Rams. At least untill some of the others gain varsity experience.

I was not there, and I can accept that. My only questions would be:

What lead to the player having the attitude? Kids will be kids, but sometimes have reasons too. I was not there or do not claim to know the whole situation.

The only thing I do know is there are some decent Junior and Sophomores that can play guard, so why sub a Freshman? As a matter of fact there were a few upperclassmen that wasnt even allowed to attend this tournament that could play some ball as well.

Last time I checked they did accept payment at the gate to attend this tournament, so if the jr's and soph. were'nt there, they were'nt supporting there team. Well there's a whole other problem of only being a single player and not a team. Seam's to be a theme with the whole team, no one moving, no one hustling and everybody blaming the coach's and not pointing the finger where it belongs.

That is too funny. I cant believe you would even post that. Did you ever think that the players might have been there? But on another note, why would a player wanna be there if the Staff doesnt want them there. How would you feel as a young boy sitting in the stands being ignored by the coaches because they are embarrassed to even look at you sitting there.

Yeah, some of the kids that were not there was the ones that were there all Summer working out with the coaches while some of the other players just stroll in and take over. Seems after observation that the private clinics, summer basketball and working with the Staff in the offseason obviously isnt worth the effort.

Unfortunately it is a coach's job to make these things happen. It is a coach's job to make the individuals into a team.

So, you saying you have to pay to be on the TEAM. That opens another can of worms.

Everyone can make all the excuses they want, but some people have commen sense and have eyes of their own to see what is really going on.

This forum is running away quick, and I am not gonna be part of it.

Good luck to Boyd the rest of the season and in the future, because I believe the big picture is everyone wants ALL the kids to prosper and wants Boyd County to prosper.

Let's put the shoe on the other foot. Do you think the other players that are there playing, 8th and 9th graders would be there if the roll was reversed or any other teamate for that matter. As far as the Coaching staff ignoring them, you sure don't know the character of a Trey Parsons or Dave Wooten or Todd Phillups, and as far as the summer time spent in the gym, you make that decision to make you better not to start or get special privlages over kids that can't be there.

Let's get this back on the game discussion. Open another thread if you want to discuss a related topic.

No problem, nothing wrong with discussing the other stuff, just not in this thread, let's reserve this thread for what it was started for, the discussion of the Raceland/Boyd game, and any other discussion can be done in another thread.:thumb:

No, unfortunately the BC Staff would love to see a Ramey home kid stroll in. That would make their job a whole lot easier and they would not have to improve the skills of the existing players. That has been our problem for years, we relied on having Ramey home kids. Now that we dont have any multi-talented Ramey home kid in the system, then we are relying on our feeder system and our own coaching, and now you seen where that has gotten us.

I hate to agree with you, but you probably are correct with this statement.

When is Boyd's next game? Was Boyles that big of a difference in this game?
