Howis it possible for a mountin team to beat one of the L'vlle schools? Manual should have been able to compete without Jendkins instead of this blowout

Manual should have fared better. No excuses. Add another player to the injury list as 6-10 Nikolic took a fall on a sprained ankle and left the game in the 1st quarter. Tried to return in the 4th but the ankle sprain was a bit much.

This is no surprise. Hazard has a very good team. Whitaker is 1 of the top point guards in the state. I believe either Hazard or Clark Co. will win the tournament. Warren had a very good game as well and Campbell also brings a lot to the table.

I picked Hazard as a Top 5 team after last year's tournament with what they had coming back. I think they will advance out of their region and make it to Sat morning possibly. They just need time to gel, come Feb they will be very tough to beat.

Here is a link to a nice article in the Herald Leader. I didn't realize Whitaker was only 6' tall. Wow, he should be considered a top 10 point guard in the state. I like what he says in the article as well, definitely speaks like a true PG.

Hazard owned this game easily. I didn't seen anything in Manual. I am sure there is better teams from Louisville than that. How you like that dunk by Justin Jones. Even if Jenkins wasn't hurt. One person is not going to show a big of a difference in a game.

Surely you're kidding.

ColonelMike, even with the injuries Manual has been able to put up at least double digit points in every half.

Manual has already won the 5th region and I'm sure they could compete for the 8th region even if not healthy.

Manual lost to a very good Hazard team that played well. Once Jenkins gets healthy and has his first practice with the team in nearly a month Manual will be fine. It's a matter of time.

Yes, it would be a lot different if Jenkins had started instead of sitting out the entire 1st period and into the 2nd period. Hazard established control of the game by that point and with Nikolic going out with an injury during the first 3 minutes of the game it spiraled.

Still a lot of season left. I would rather have Jenkins miss December than to miss February. Manual will improve from here on out and I wish no one the adversity of injuries Manual has faced.

Whitaker is probably THE Best PG in the state and Hazard is for real!!! They have a great point guard and size inside along with some other nice complimentary players. This is the best true Mountain team since Harlan's Charles Thomas teams. I believe they will have a legitimate shot at both state championships (All A and Sweet 16 at Rupp)

There is a little wisdom not to jump to conclusions over one game. According to your logic, the University of Louisville would have no chance of winning an NCAA championship in March because of their poor performance and losses to Minnesota and WKU this year. Florida would be given no chance of winning an NCAA national championship because of their loss to Ole Miss. The Trinity football team would have not even played the state semi-final against St. X because they knew they would lose since they lost in the regular season loss to that team.

Also, I am sure that high school (and college and pro) players always play with consistency and at a high level every game. Brett Favre surely cannot play quarterback because he threw some interceptions yesterday. Cliff Lee wins the 2008 Cy Young Award, but was demoted to the minor leagues in 2007 because of poor performance. Injuries, too, never affect performance. Deuce Finch would have quit at the start of the 2008 high school season because of the way an injury affected his performance, but by sticking to it he earned “Mr. Football” honors.

Manual will probably thank you for giving them “bulletin board” material. If I were Hazard, I would be a little nervous it I had to play Manual again.

The bulletin board material is already printed and posted.

It looks like a post on BGP is going to be what propells Manual to a 7th region title.

Manual does have a very good team and would win most regions in the state, but IMO they are chasing J'town, Eastern, and Ballard. I believe all 3 of those teams are better at this point.

Of course their better at this point. Manual is playing on one leg. That's about to change.
