From the looks of it, Cedar Hills looks to be a strong defensive team. They average only giving up 50 ppg. It will be interesting to see how the high scoring Lion offense does against a good defensive team.

At least we will get a gauge on where EC fits into the KY basketball picture.

 

If they can hang with this team then they may be a force but if they get blown out, they shouldn't be considered a top ten team in KY until they prove it against a quality team!

Saying they shouldnt be a top 10 team in the state may be a stretch. This isnt the thread to argue their position in the state but I think they are clearly a top 10 team. It is difficult to make a 10 hour trip then compete against a top 100 team. Elliott Co. loses by a touchdown, but makes it an interesting game.

I've been watching some of this tournament (Pennsbury, PA vs Fayette Co. GA)

and noticed the 3 point line being college range. The announcers said it was farther out and was giving team's problems.

I wonder if this is gonna cause Elliott to have problems, since that's their style of play for the most part?

Unless they move it out past half court, I don't think Elliott County will be affected at all.

They haven't played a quality team yet in KY so until they do(even out of state teams) how can you compare them to Scott Co., Holmes, and the other top 10 teams in the state who have faced stiffer competition. If they are the real deal, they should hang with this team and that would confirm their top 10 ranking in KY. If they get blown out, the jury is still out!

Elliott's first true test of the year and unless its a western gun battle, I don't see them hitting their season average of 106 ppg. It's good to play the best from other states, it prepares you for March and along with Scott and Holmes, Elliott is a threat to be cutting down the nets in March.

That being said, I have watched bits of pieces of a few games today and I have seen only 2 teams that I feel Elliott would have problems with. I have saw 2-3 teams that Elliott would destroy. So far, I think Elliott is just as good as any team I've watched and there hasn't been a team that can run with Elliott (yet anyways).

Nobody is saying Elliott isn't a quality team but IF THEY ARE, they will compete against this team tomorrow. The rest of the state is not going to guarantee them a spot in the state final four because they can score 100 points against lesser quality teams!!

I'll tell you one thing right now, Elliott is a pretty athletic team with 4 division 1 players in the starting lineup (and yes, I know Ethan Faulkner signed with NKU, but he had D1 offers and made the choice to go to NKU). Ferguson already has offers from at least 3 D1 schools if not more. I know of 3 for sure and a couple of them are BCS schools. Evan Faulkner already signed with a D1 school.

Don't get me wrong, Elliot is athletic, but not compared to the likes of Holmes and Scott county and several other teams.You can't say if Elliot gets drilled tomorrow that SC and Holmes, and many other teams would get beat just the same, Their athleticism could make a difference, so to say what you said is a little far fetched.
