12-1 season boosts Rams appeal

The 2008 Small School All-Area Football Team has an orange tint to it.

 

Eight players from Raceland’s 12-1 state quarterfinalist headlined selections by coaches from the area’s Class A-AAA teams — Raceland, Russell, Fairview, Paintsville, East Carter, West Carter and Lewis County.

 

Also, Raceland’s Randy Vanderhoof was named Coach of the Year and Ram teammates Robby Logan and Bret Denton shared Player of the Year honors.

Congrats to Raceland Caoch Randy Vanderhoof (and as he mentioned...all of the Raceland coaching staff). Congrats as well to B. Denton and R. Logan on the Co MVP honors. Coach Vanderhoof imo was right when he stated in the article that it could have went to other Raceland players as well. J.S. Carver (to mention just one) had an excellent year on both as a RB on offense and from his LB position on defense as well.

This was a great honor for all of the eight Raceland players selected as well as all of the other kids/players from all of the schools. I am a Raceland fan so naturally I singled out some of the Raceland kids. That was not meant to take away at all from any other players from other schools selected on the all area team.

 

Congrats to ALL players from ALL schools that were selcted. This was a well deserved honor and you should be proud.
