Scoring for the Lady Colonels:

Lape 21

Beaudrie 12

Leanheart 7

Melton 2

Haroin 3

Howard 2

Pehlke 2

Close game. Way to hang Lady Raiders.

Lady Raiders led for the first three quarters, but wilted under the Oldham pressure in the fourth.

Difficult for the Lady Raiders with just 8 players, four of whom are freshmen or 8th graders. They pretty much stay in a zone to protect the starters... must be a real issue trying to practice.

Both teams are far from finished products. Mitchell was very impressive - her jump hook shot is very, very good. But I wonder if Trimble can succeed this year if they don't develop some more scoring balance. The offense tonight was almost exclusively throw it to Mitchell...she shot every time she got the ball. She's a heck of a player - but TC needs more contributions from others.

Oldham continues to have offensive woes as they adjust to Larry Just's system and demands. This was their first win of the season (vs. three losses). Emily Lape played a superb game for the Lady Colonels tonight, scoring on a variety of shots. Turnovers are still an issue.

BTW...that was "HARDIN" for Oldham that scored 3 points, not "Haroin"

Based on the results this week, is it safe to say that the 29th district is pretty much up for grabs? Chime in brothers and sisters, what do you think? There are lots of games and practices between now and tourney time.

Congrats to the Lady Raiders for hanging tough. From the sound of it, it seems that South Oldham is the team to beat in the district.

The Lady Raiders are very young (start 2 jrs, 1 soph, 1 frosh, and 1 8th grader and the 7 man is a frosh) so they are gaining vital experience. What hurts them most is that they are not very deep, to put it mildly. Hopefully that can be remedied as the season goes on.

They led at the end of the 3rd. They just (as one person put it ;)) "ran out of steam."

As I have said before once this teams experience catches up with it's talent they are going to be tough to contend with. Keep working hard Raiders.

Sounds like the Raiders played well.. Good job girls!

Good win for Oldham!

I think that's a fair assessment, although right now at least, South Oldham is head and shoulders ahead of the other three teams. Due to the youth of all four teams, lots can change between now and tournament time.
