This was an overall good game. Neither team really ran away with the game it was back and fourth all night. I think that the ref made the right call at the end of the game.

LC's full court defense gave Wayne Co. a lot of trouble.

McCreary tried that last night and Wayne shot layups. I guess we could take from that is Lincolns press is better than McCrearys or Wayne handled it much better last night. The refs were a non factor last night as three of the best 12th region officals did the game. The charge in question was just that a charge. Look at the game film and its easy to see the correct call was made.

Lincoln County isn't at the top, but neither are many other teams. This region is wide open. McCreary may have been preseason number one, but they have a lot of growing to do.

 

McCreary, Wayne, Lincoln, Mercer, Garrard, West, and East could all win this region. With many others right there.

They are already 4-0 in the Region with wins over 3 of the teams that you list as contenders, including a 21 point win over Wayne County, who last night beat the preseason top team in the Region. That may all change by the end of the season or even within the next couple of weeks but if a poll were taken right now Lincoln County would be deserving of the top spot. Of course being the top team in the Region in December means absolutely nothing come March.

You're exactly right. They have some quality wins, and come March they may be the best team. However, I just don't think any team is the best in the region - McCreary included. I think it's going to come down to the best players and the coaches come then. McCreary's Watts and Lincoln's Spurlin are at the top of the list.

 

I'm not going to make any excuses for the refs in the game against Wayne. I wasn't there so I have no right to.

 

Come March, these will be some of the best district and region tournaments.

I would say after experiencing Lincoln's press, Wayne adjusted in their game with McCreary. McCreary made Pulaski look awful when they applied the press. But in their game with West, the Colts ran right through it most of the time.

I agree the game was well officiated. I never said that there were any home cooking going on. The Wayne player was clearly still moving toward the baseline and never got set. I never said that was the main factor of McCreary losing. Unforced turnovers and Bell (WC) having a scoring spree in the 2nd half is what beat McCreary. It was a great game and big win for Wayne! Congrats..

In the 4th quarter McCreary ran a diamond press and caused some turnovers that got them back in the game. I think if they had went to it sooner they would have pulled it out.

If I were ranking the region right now, it would be like AVG said. Lincoln and then everyone else. But thats right now. Spurlin is a great player and so is Watts. Clearly the two best in the region. Gonna be interesting come March.
