Besides, I don't think an Ashland p.r. machine got them more wins than any program in Ky. High School basketball history (unless I am mistaken they still own that honor). If it did, then I want those p.r. guys .

I just believe that if someone wants to look at history and tradition then you look at all of it, not just the years/parts that they want to. :thumb:

As a supporter of Louisville Trinity, I find it rather amusing that you imply that the Shamrock's football tradition is second to Ashland. Trinity's 19 state championships clearly prove that you have no credibility. And, don't you think that Highlands has a little tradition of its own?

I need to add that Ashland will easily dispose of Raseland.

Not to get off the subject but Boyd Co has won more regional titles during my lifetime than Ashland.

 

Pre consolidation days mean nothing. Ashland was 4 times bigger than their opponents back then. Wins over Frogtown, Mossey Bottom, Vatican City, Rockdale and Avendale padded their record.

Somehow, I think it is significant that it was built closer to the time of the presidency of Abraham Lincoln than to the present day. I believe there are two types of tradition. One represents longivity. The other represents achievement. Probably you were referring to the former rather than the latter. I thought oldrambler was doing a little too much unwarranted "gilding of the lily". No one should ever question Ashland's belief in its tradition. It bonds you boys.
