Zollo is still adjusting to the new enviroment and other schools students are pretty hard on him. Madison Central students were VERY rude as far as student sections go. Storming the floor after the game? A wise old coach once told me " Act like you've been here before !"

All in all this was a brutal game to watch as a Clark fan. If GRC hits free throws they win by at least 10 IMO. Don't fret Clark fans it will get better!:thumb:

 

In the prediction thread I tried to warn everyone that I was really scared about Madison Central...I was afraid that this would happen last night.

All in all I was proud of the way OUR student section handled themselves last night. You are respresenting your school...do it with class.:thumb:

Is the 11th that much better than any other region (excluding the 7th)? Madison Central is a middle of the pack 11th region team and GRC is the favorite in the 10th, right?

Does not surprise me about the student section. When we would throw the ball in on Saturday night, if we were in front of the student section, the refs were allowing the students to come within inches of our players screaming "you, you, you" at him. I do not understand the rule, the defensive team must give the person throwing the ball in three feet, but the student section has no rules.

Yes but we are also without our best player in Stenzel. This was the first game that we have played without him and we obviously were a little out of it not having him on the court. I'm not taking anything from MC they played good defense and had a pretty good offensive night. Last night was a lot like our preseason games in which we couldn't hit water if we fell out a boat. We rushed a lot of shots and tried to force a lot of shots. We will be fine come tourney time, we are young and still figuring everyone out. This team will be a tough out against anyone in the state these next three years.

Stenzel has been out for the last 2 and one half games. He got hurt in the beginning of the second half against Ryle. In order for Clark to win , against teams that can play, they need Stenzel, Hatton, Zollo, Williams and Rogers in there. Travis Purvis was a major loss to this years team. As the old saying goes," you don't miss the water till the well goes dry."

Zollo was a whopping 2-3 with 5 pts. Welcome to playing against good solid defense.

No surprise they lose then. Stenzel, their best scorer is out, and they have a 6'8" D1 recruit in the middle, and they can't find a way to get him more than 3 shots? I would question the coaching or the teammates.

He plays more of the PF position taking those long to mid range shots and going to the basket when he wants to. He will adjust in and he does a great job crashing the boards. Vinny will be a fine ball player and everyone needs to get off his back about him playing a little off and saying he isn't good enough to be a D1 player. The kids a sophmore give him a break. He will grow, get some meat on him and will be a great player.
