Will Cooper be able to win any games this year? I know they are a first year program and building for the future.

Looking at their schedule it doesn't seem very likely. They might have a chance against either Deming or Carrol Co but the rest of their schedule consists of big 9th region schools. Kudos to Sullivan though for throwing a little adversity at his team this year. It will only make them better in the long run.

Any stats for the game? I'd like to follow what Cooper does to see who steps up for them. Did they have any kids that would have started for Ryle or Conner?

Cooper will continue to improve, they will get better.

I don't think so. The kids they are playing right now would not start for most JV teams in the region.

Box Score:

Holy Cross (1-0) - Voltenhein 2 0 4, Egan 5 0 10, Eastin 1 0 2, E. Sullivan 1 2 4, Trimpe 3 0 7, Allen 2 0 4, Giwa 8 0 17, M. Sullivan 2 0 4. Totals: 24 2 52.

Cooper (0-2) - Thompson 1 0 2, Bradley 1 1 4, Storey 5 0 10, Ramey 1 2 4, Klute 0 2 2, Lewis 1 0 2, Hare 1 0 3. Totals: 10 5 27.

Holy Cross 14 6 24 8-52

Cooper 8 6 2 11-27

Looking at the box score makes me wonder about HC. If not for a big 3rd quarter, Cooper actually hangs in there with them.

Oh yeah it was extremely ugly the first half, and they only led by 6. However, in the third quarter they really did completely dominate with their starters. It looked as if everyone settled down. The fourth quarter was all subs on the floor pretty much. Still, I didn't think HC looked very good against the Jags.

Rob Bob Broering put up a good showing in the JV game for HC.

Wow, they have just as long of a road to travel as Football it looks. I'll put it on another thread, but I would assume Baseball is going to be just as tough.

I wonder if Cooper just played with them, or it was a matter that HC showed up at the parking lot, and felt that was all they needed to do???

I'm thinking maybe a combination of both but it was the first game for HC so kinda tough to tell. We should know more after Sat when they play NCC.

I disagree. The basketball team will be able to compete much quicker than will the football.

How did M. Sullivan play? Any stats?

Sullivan has been coming in and out of the games. I think he had a couple buckets but he is still getting back in the groove.

He sat alot, just thought he would have been on the floor alot more.

Yea tonight I thought he sat a lot, but I think his time will increase as the year goes on.
