FT shooting, turnovers, and rebounding hurt MC.

 

Highlands is a very good rebounding team and plays physical defense which leads to a lot of turnovers. They dominated Fairdale on the boards in their scrimmage as well.

Big win for Highlands, I know it is early but I am not so sure that outside of GRC that 2-6 could be anyone in the 10th.

The 10th is very wide open outside of GRC IMO.

Since you were there, who stood out for Highlands?

 

Their point guard #3 had good ball handling skills and made some nice passes.

I think it was #24 and #22 that really hurt Mason Co. on the boards, and #24 was exceptionally well at the FT line.

I think everyone underestimates Highlands. They are solid, very strong physical team.

Good thing the two 6'5" football players weren't there.

This is what really bothered me during the game.

 

Huge win for the birds! To go on the road to the fieldhouse and beat the defending state champs and current 8th ranked team is unbelievable. Sounds like the birds played with a lot of heart. This has to move them up the ranks immediately.:dancingpa

I think Kowolonek might just be the most underrated player as a junior up here in nky. The Holmes and Boone juniors get hyped up a lot but I'd personnally say Kowolonek is the 4th best junior up here behind only the Johnson Brothers and Pittman.

Highlands was also without several football kids though who would have played in this game and maybe started because of their lack of depth down low.

Couple this with the scrimage win over Fairdale on Saturday, the birds are looking good early.

 

Someone said Mason was not a full strenght, who were they missing?
