I like girls

Not moving somewhere because of your hair. Hmm..I don't know. I don't think thatd ever stop me.

Well I think it was that and the palmetto bugs that Florida has aka "flying cockroaches".

I'm going to bet the flying cockroach thing MIGHT have been a bigger factor than hair, maybe they were equal, who knows.

I do love getting reactions from people when they hear about palmetto bugs, just awesome stuff.

Bought "Higher Learning" today at Wal-Mart while Christmas shopping...anyone seen it?

I do remember I lived in Rock Hill, South Carolina for a couple weeks about 10 years ago.

I was on the phone all day as part of my job and within just a few days, I was picking up that southern drawl accent. Hard to explain it in text, but I caught myself on the phone and couldn't believe how quickly I picked up on it.

While cute for women, that accent just doesn't sound right coming from a guy.

Well good for you.:thumb:

Ha, well I'm from there, so I don't recognize it to be honest. Ya'll sound weird to me ;)

When I first moved here, people were like "omg girl where did you come from" but now it isn't as bad. Just certain words and certain times. And when I'm mad lol..I get all kinds of country.

Well good for you.:thumb:

lol, oh yeah same to you about the girl thing, I was worried..

Higher Learning is an AMAZING movie from John Singleton, it was his third film after Boyz n the Hood and Poetic Justice. The cast was all unknowns at the time and everyone did a great job.

The DVD commentary is awesome and you find out that Tyra Banks, who was just 20 or 21 at the time was dating John Singleton.

Another FUN fact that I remember is that Kristy Swanson really was the mirror image of her character on screen. Never dealt with violence growing up, living a very happy life for the most part. I guess they shot part of the film in a bad part of LA and one night during shooting gunshots rang out and Kristy ran to her trailer freaked out to no end. I guess a few others on the cast had some fun with her after that.

Maybe I do follow movie making too closely. Hmmmmm.
