Gino- c/o 2002 (Attended UC..starting Qb)

Jeff- ("Beau")- c/o 2004 (Attended Southeastern Louisiana)

Ben- c/o 2006 (Now at UC)

Tony- c/o 2009

I believe that Gino Guidugli graduated from Highlands as part of the Class of 2001, not 2002 (since he won his last title with HHS in December 2000).

Congrats to Tony for the prestigious honor!

That's right. I thought I was a year off but wasn't sure. 2002 is the year we came up short of winning 4 in a row and got knocked out of the playoffs by Covcath in the second round.

47 seems high to me. I would have guessed lower. :D

LOL...funny...my first pass was at 32, but thought, 'nah...it's gotta be more believable than that'...

Well, it was actually 2001 when HHS got beat by CCH in the second round. 2002 was when HHS got hammered by Rockcastle County in the state semifinals.

Those were two fun years for HHS fans, eh?!?!?! j/k

Yea neither of those were fun years for us as fans or for the players. It's alright though. We're making up for it now. :D

We're making up for it now. :D

Hopefully! We'll know in about three weeks, I suppose.

Gosh I hope our guys can repeat this year!!!!

Anyway, this recognition for Tony G. reflects well on him, his offensive teammates, and the coaching staff at HHS.

I agree.

Tony G. has put in a lot of work over the years and waited his turn to take over the offense. He would have started at a lot of other nky schools as a sophomore. He's that talented.

I am sure there are more since this list was put together. Not all are father and son, some had a parent or parents or aunts, uncles cousins, etc. that may or may not have played football but graduated from Highlands and are all at least 2nd generation with some if not many being third...Like this addition to the list: Austin Collinsworth In his case, his mother (the good looking side of the family) is a Highlands Grad.

Congrats to Tony and his teammates, quite an honor just to be nominated for this award!!!

DeBartolo Sports University announced Tony Guidugli, quarterback for Highlands High School, has been selected as one of the top 100 athletes identified for the 2008 "Joe Montana High School Quarterback of the Year Award."

The award will be presented to the nation's best high school quarterback and will be chosen by Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana and Steve Clarkson, quarterback expert and President of DeBartolo Sports University.

The quarterbacks will be graded and evaluated through DeBartolo Sports University's scouting division, which is comprised of former college and NFL coaches. The watch-list of the top 100 quarterbacks will be narrowed down to seven national finalists who will be announced in December 2008.

Congrats. :thumb:

Not bad would you say for a player that someone in the JC/Highlands thread labeled as "very slow."

Tony been given D1 offers?
