As a Belfry fan, I was really looking forward to play Mason County. They have a great program and I have a lot of respect for Coach Buchanan and what they have done there over the last several years.

 

I don't think Belfry and Mason County have ever played each other before, which is kind of surprising. It seems like either Russell gets in their way or Breathitt gets in our way in the years where a playoff matchup looked possible. One of these days we are bound to meet up, until then we'll just have to look forward to it, I guess.

 

Of course I am happy we are still playing, no matter who the opponent is. And I am glad to see another Belfry / Sheldon Clark matchup because it is always a tough game and there are a lot of mutual friendships, etc. on both sides that make it interesting. And I'm happy for Coach Hager and the Cards, but playing somebody new, especially Mason County, was looking like a lot of fun.
