It will be interesting to see if either or both can get back to PJCS. I think they will but both will have a tough semifinal path. Fort Campbell has to find either Monroe or Green County on a map and NCC will likely have to travel to Corbin. Neither are easy places to play.

 

Agreed. :thumb: I’m trying to determine which one is closer (Greensburg or Tompkinsville) so I can root for them. It does kind of chap my behind that as a #1 seed we may have to travel two years in a row for the semi-final game, but I suppose if that’s all I have to complain about I’m lucky.

Agreed, either offense would be an interesting match up against a stingy Fort Campbell defense. I wonder with Green losing one of their impact offensive players how that will affect them in these deeper playoff rounds. I know they have made adjustments and had an impressive win against Danville, but it’s always tough to lose a major contributor on offensive, similar to the Franklin-Simpson game when Antonio sat out.

 

Of course I don’t want to look too far ahead, since we have an always tough Owensboro Catholic squad coming to town this Friday, who would like nothing more then a repeat of 2005.

Have I read the KHSAA Brackets incorrectly? I swear it says that round 4 is to be played at the even districts location. That would mean a trip for either Monroe or Green County not Fort Campbell or O Cath right? Or did we change districts and I didn't hear about it. I'm showing FC and O Cath as district 2. An even number last time I had math class, and Green and Monroe as district 3. If I'm not mistaken, 3 is an odd number. So why do I keep reading threads stating FC will be on the road a week after they thrash O Cath?

It's actually even region, not district, and FC and Owensboro are both yes District 2, but REGION 1. Sorry. They do travel again. I am not sure of why two years in a row for FC, maybe someone smarter than I on here could clarify that too. My guess is that the Regions must have shifted a little with the playoff schedule this season???

At the regional level, you go by region number. Fort Campbell is the likely winner of region one, while Green/Monroe will determine the winner of Region 2. That means Region 2 hosts the game this year.

 

Because of the funny draw and different playoff method last year, Fort Campbell was in Region 2 and had to travel to the Region 1 winner, Metcalfe County.

 

That's why FC is likely on the road for the region title two years in a row.
