From KNN Al:

Hi gang--it's that time of year for the 2008 KNN High School Scoreboard Show.

We'll again be using your nominees for Player Of The Week, and the official rankings will come from BluegrassPreps.com.

We'll be heard on at least 30 stations around Kentucky, with more on the way. I'll post a full station list as soon as it's finalized.

As always, I'd like for all of you to post the stations in your area that air high school games. We'll use reports from those stations in the show as much as possible. If you know the identity of the announcers that's a bonus.

When nominating a Player Of the Week candidate, please include the players name, school, size, (ht/wt), class, (soph/jr/sr) and position. Then give an accurate listing of the stats he posted that week. Carries, yards, etc.

We'll use all the nominees and give them a mention, and then one will be chosen for POW.

Thanks for all the help in advance, and enjoy the season!

KNN Scoreboard Show

I would like to nominate Mason County Royals senior tailback Jeremy Thompson this week. Jeremy rushed for 245 yards and six touchdowns on 19 carries in Mason County's first-round playoff win over Magoffic County. The 6 TDs tied a school record.

In addition, Thompson shattered Mason County's single-season records for touchdowns and rushing yards, and now has 30 TDs and 1,532 rushing yards on the year.

I would like to nominate Junior QB Antonio Andrews from Fort Campbell. This week Antonio rushed for 104 yards on five carries and 2 TDs, was 5 for 6 passing for 142 yards and 3 TDs, and only played the first half.

I agree, the most dominating single-game, (first half), performance by any player I have watched this season.

Carver also had a 44 yard punt return for a touchdown. For a total of 133 all purpose yardage and three touchdowns for the game.

Congrats to Jeremy!

PS (and this may be late), Mason County's games are aired on WFTM, 95.9 FM.

Congratulations to Jeremy, our offensive line, Josh Huron, Jonathan McBride, our WR's and our QB. Jeremy does a great job and his teammates do exceptionally well blocking for him. Our QB gets us in the right play and allows our blockers and Jeremy to do their thing.

Thank you to The Guru and the KY News Network for recognizing Jeremy and the other HS football players through the course of the year. Whenever you are making a difference in the live of a young person, you are doing a good thing. Thank you!
