It's cold so I'm sick.

Featured Replies

Anyime the weather goes back and forth, like last week it being 70 and now it is 40; I get sick. The weather DEF. has an impact on if you get sick or not.

I hate this cold weather, bring on summer.

Never said simply being cold makes you sick but it doesn't help you keep from being sick..

I know if you sit in a cold room long enough your nose starts to run.

It's one factor though.

Never said you did.

I can tell you exactly what led to my illness.

Standing in cold weather drinking alcohol for about four hours

Then going in side a nice warm germ infested arena to watch a game and drink some more beer.

Then going to a bar with some friends for some more alcohol, by this point I'm pretty sure I had no immune system.

Then getting a ride home, and deciding I'm not ready for bed, and calling a "friend" to come over, only to find out as she is leaving that they were sick the previous weekend.

Theraflu, hot liquid.

Yeah, I laughed at that entire thing. Sorry youre sick though :(

You're welcome. I mean it is just obvious right? It isn't a coincedence that people get more colds during the winter, than in the summer.

I get sick when it gets cold as well. I have horrible sinuses, and there just isn't much I can do. Especially when the weather changes from warm & sunny to cold and dreary back to warm & sunny and so on and so forth.

I was sick last week. Felt horrible for a few days. Sinuses, runny / stuffed up nose, headaches, just didn't feel well. I took Nyquil a few nights in a row, as well as some Advil Cold & Sinus and a few other things and it really helped. I still have a runny nose and a little bit of a cough (due to drainage mostly), but feel much, much better.

I would recommend NyQuil. If you take it early enough, it shouldn't affect your sleeping too much either. I typically take it 2 hours before I plan on going to bed. Those 2 hours can be rough, though. :D

Also, anything by Vicks has always helped me breathe better.

I heard they took the medicine out of Nyquil that makes you sleepy. Man I loved that stuff.

Yea I set myself up for this, it's sad when you diagnose yourself as being sick three days before you are, and yet still let it happen. :irked:

lol I mean if you had fun, it's worth it I guess. And it sounds like you did.

NO!:fight: I always took it on nights before I had something big the next day to help me sleep. Sportsfan- Quit being a girl:D (No offense to the girls on here).

lol no offense taken. :)

But yeah, if I felt sick or I just couldn't sleep, that stuff knocked me right on out and it was an amazingly blissful night of sleep. I took it a while back and did not fall asleep or anything, asked my mama and she broke the news to me. I was upset for a while about it. :irked:

Did she tell you why they took it out?

I doubt that. The only thing they might have taken out of it, that I know of, would have been pseuodoephedrine and that is hardly a sedative.

Take it. It doesn't knock me out at all. My mom is an RN, and I trust her with my medical issues.

I would not have even bothered to ask had I not realized the difference from before. I take something different now to knock me out, but I can't think of what it is.
