I've been on a bit of a reading binge lately and read the last three Vince Flynn books, Acto of Treason, Protect and Defend, and Extreme Measures. I enjoyed all three books but decided to look switch to Sci-Fi for awhile.

 

I read Dark Matter by S. W. Ahmed, which was not bad but contained too much fantasy for my tastes.

 

Next, I read Old Man's War by John Scalzi and it was one of the best science fiction books that I have read. I am reading the second book in the series now, The Ghost Brigades, and I am enjoying it very much. If you like the Niven-Pournelle books, you will like Scalzi's writing.

I just finished reading Whiskey Sour (Jack Daniels Mysteries) by J. A. Konrath and

Death Angel by Linda Howard. Both decent reads.

Just read a murder/mystery fiction book called Quicksand. It sucked.

 

If you see it on the shelf, turn the other way. It is a few hours of your life you are not going to get back.

I have read "Lost Moon" by Jim Lovell; several years ago. Is that the same book?

 

Yes! They renamed it after the movie came out.
