The defense may have been desimated from what I hear. Not just bu the kids who were missing, but fro the attitudes of those who were there. I believe there were kids who never played a snap of Varsity 1st team football who were on the field. Not taking away from the DH win, but not making them world beaters based on this game either.

That would be a shame if they thought that little of their teammates, program and coaches, to give less than their best regardless of the circumstances?? I'm guessing if Coach Styer & staff saw any of this, the kids would have been sent to the pine. These are moments that define character, or a lack thereof!!

Coach Styer has not lost his team. This team showed a lack of leadership. That is not Coach Styer's fault. He can not designate someone to be a leader they have to step up. For the past 3 years there has been great leadership in the Campbell County Football Program. This year there was none. This team will rebound. They have some great talent moving up.

A lack of leadership gets you a 49 point loss I don't think so, blaming the players is rediculous, I know a lot of those players and have seen them play quite a bit and they play hard. The coach is the leader and gets them ready to play and obviously they were not ready to play.

Have you been around this team on a daily basis? Just because they play hard doesn't mean that equals a successful team. I never blamed the 49 point loss on a lack of leadership. I blamed the season on a lack of leadership for some of the troubles this team had and by no means did it come from Coach Styer. There is a time when you are in a game and you need a leader on the field which a coach can not do. This is what this team was lacking this whole year. I have not just seen this I have heard this from players as well.

1. Would that be Seniors who are not playing? Isn't it more typical that a Senior or Senior parent is upset about their playing time. I think that no matter who plays, the questions will always be there about "who is playing instead of..." You will never please everyone with playing time.

 

2. Offense is so predictable. Hmmm, what about Highlands. You know what's coming on every down, but stop it if you can. It's not about predictability, but about execution.

Wow--Hope that's not true?? That group of coaches, who have worked long & hard to turn the program around, deserve much better than that??

Very well said. I wouldn't be close enough to this team to know about who is a leader and who is not, but you hit it dead on. Every coach has to have the one player on the field and the locker room who is an extension of himself. That person (leader) is the key to influencing the rest to "buy-in" to the program, system, game-plan. It's always easy to blame the coaches, but when does the accountability of the players come into play? Again, good post memyselfandi.
