:laugh: A poll of Republicans indicates that 64 percent believe Sarah Palin will be the leading candidate for the Republican nomination in 2012. Not only are Democrats scared of her, as evidenced by the vicious media smears, but other Republicans also understand her appeal.

 

Mike Huckabee was runner up in the poll with 12 percent of the votes. Five other governors followed him.

 

 

Moderates will not vote for Sarah Palin. If the GOP nominates her in 4 years, they will lose, because they can't win without moderates and she represents the most polarizing aspects of the Republican platform.

 

The good news is that she does have plenty of time to practice her one-line zingers before the first 2012 debate... :lol:

Sarah Palin did not simply run against an unpopular corrupt governor, she was instrumental in exposing the corruption in Murkowski's administration that made him unpopular. That is a distinction that liberals just do not seem to get. In addition, her efforts led to the resignation of the GOP Chairman from the energy commission, who was also forced to pay a $12,000 fine, and the resignation of Alaska's Attorney General. It was those efforts that put her into position to run against and easily defeat an incumbent governor and a former Democratic governor.

 

Sarah Palin did not just get lucky to run against an unpopular governor she made that luck happen.

 

I think you are giving her way too much credit. Look on the bright side with her losing, we can send her back to Alaska to keep an eye on Russia. :sssh::lol:

Moderates voted for Reagan in large numbers. It is nonsensical to say that moderates will not vote for a conservative.

I think that I have probably read much more on the subject than you. You are simply repainting the caricature of Palin drawn by the left wing bloggers and their accomplices in the media. The truth is Palin won the governor's seat in Alaska with broad support and had a 75 percent job approval rating among Democrats when McCain put her on the ticket.

 

There is a good reason that Democrats are continuing to smear Palin more than a week after the election. As Joe Biden might say, that reason can be summed up by a three-letter word, F-E-A-R, FEAR. :lol:

Saw portions of Palin's interview with Greta last night and Matt Lauer this morning.

 

She said she would have liked to do more interviews.

 

When she arrived at the RNC, she was told, here was your staff and she knew none of them. They told her they had purchased clothing for all 8 members of her family and it was like the setting of the convention, just the way it was done. She NEVER ordered one piece of it. NEVER had set foot inside the NY Neiman Marcus or Saks as the rumor had proclaimed.

 

Still thinks that McCain is the best leader in this country and would have loved to have been allowed to tell more of his story. The parts that have not been told that he is too humble to tell about himself.

 

She did not rule out a run in 2012.

 

Said her job now is to do her best to use Alaska's resources to make the lower 48 more self-reliant on energy.

 

Called those anonymous sources cowards. Greta grilled a McCain staffer who was involved in all the debate preps who says the Africa comment did not happen. Palin denies the NAFTA comment.

 

She cooked dinner for Matt Lauer and was making the meal as he asked questions.

 

Piper said it would be fun to do it again in 2012.

 

Meredith asked Matt what was he most surprised about and he said, "They are just a good downhome family."

My view: This was a pick that McCain's staff was not on board with.

 

Some wanted Lieberman. Some wanted Romney. Others wanted someone else. Palin was not a choice his staff wanted.

 

So, they were never comfortable on how to handle her and so they mishandle her. They were afraid to put her out to the media and so they didn't and it blew up in their faces.

 

And so instead of them taking the blame for the mishandling and it hurting their chances for a job in future races, they are trying to secretly blame her and cast her in a negative light.

I think that the McCain staffers DID NOT WANT PALIN as the VP selection.

 

And thus, they did not have the loyalty nor the enthusiasm nor trust that they should have had.
