I don't see how you can put much stock into a national ranking. Particularly in the preseason. There is no way that there is a panel who knows that much about every high school team in America to have a fairly accurate poll.

Scott County High School figures to be the No. 1 preseason team in the state of Kentucky and the Cardinals are already getting some national love.

 

The Cardinals were ranked No. 14 in the first PrepNation.com national poll of the season. Scott County will be led by senior Richie Phares, juniors Dakotah Euton, Chad Jackson (photo) and Ge-lawn Guyn. Euton and Jackson are transfers from Rose Hill Christian.

 

Freshman Tamron Manning will also be a huge contributor. The website said the 6-foot-3 Manning appears ready to emerge as one of the top freshmen prospects in the country.

They usually come out a few days before the first regular season game along with the previews by all the writers from the papers around the state.

I won't comment on kids on an individual basis because I don't think kids are deserving of that type of criticism. IMO, they have a few weak spots.

It will be an interesting year there are alot of people hoping for them to fall flat on their face. Will they do it? I dont think so. Only time will tell.

Two of these teams are in the Myrtle Beach Ball Classic:

#3 Wheeler, GA who has ESPN #48 ranked player in 6'6" Ari Stewart and #60 ranked player in 6'8" Richard Howell. #6 St. Patrick's NJ who has the ESPN #10 ranked player in 6'3" Dexter Strickland who has verballed to North Carolina.

 

Other top players include ESPN #39 player Noel Johnson of Fayetteville, GA

#53 ranked player Dalton Pepper of Pennsbury, PA who has verballed to West Virginia. Also 6'8" Wallace Judge of Arlington Country Day, FL who has verballed to Kansas State.

 

Elliott County will see some top talent and teams in this big tourney.

I can think of atleast 2 teams who's starting line ups match up with SC's. :sssh:

 

As far as them falling flat on their face I doubt very seriously that happens, but I do think SC will lose more games than some of the SC faithful think.
