Maybe a little of both. It should be a fun game to watch. Obviously Scott Co. has the horses and will be the heavy favorite. The Big Oak is a potential D1 offensive linemen, therefore he is not afraid to mix it up in the trenches. If the refs let the Big Oak play he can create problems for folks. Oak can shoot the three as well.

I've told you before that I really think FC has a chance at winning the 11th region. Scott Co is no doubt a good team, but have proved nothing yet IMO. A lot of hype for that program to live up to this year and next.

Probably the other way around, although I didn't see the game this summer as to how they were matched up.

For those in the 11th region who have seen SC over the summer, what would you say are their weaknesses?

Check my post but I think I said Scott would be rated in the top 10 or 15. I also think some people said I was a little crazy. The truth is Scott will start 4 kids that are D-1 type players. I would say they also have the best freshman group in the state. Scott Co. is once again loaded with talent.

The Johnson Brothers grew up attending the Holmes feeder schools and left for one year (freshman year) because their mother got a job in the Taft schooling system. Her job was cut after one year so she moved back to KY and got a job with the Covington B.O.E so her sons could go back to their ORIGINAL school.

 

As far as Housely, him leaving Newport was probably the best possible solution for him and his family. Anyone who knows the inside story as to why he HAD to transfer knows what I'm referring to.

 

But I do agree that all three have helped make Holmes a state contender this year.

Not sure they really have any weaknesses. They will only get better as the season goes on. It will be a tall order for anyone to upset them in the 11th. I think it can be done, on a given night.

Also transferring in from the Western Hills feeder school is the Ivey kid. It is a shame that Western Hills (Franklin County School System) has not been able to keep impact players in their system. A name many may be familiar with, William Graham, also elected to leave the Hills system after middle school as he attended Lexington Catholic. I think LC won a state championship when Graham was a soph.

 

Ivey will be a very good high school ball player.

Saw Ivey last night at Meet the Cards and was very impressed with him. Scott County has to have two of the best freshman in the state. I know Manning will play alot , I think he will be starting sooner rather than later. And after seeing Ivey I would have to believe he would get some playing time this year as well.

 

Scott Co. looked very good last night. Gelawn was the biggest suprise. His shot has really improved. If he can shoot like he did last night, he could possibly be their best player.
