How Tolerant Are You?

Featured Replies

If we know it's unacceptable, how can we be tolerant of it?

Their RELIGION isn't unacceptable, their actions are unacceptable.

I thought we were discussing religious tolerance, not tolerance of the twisting of religious beliefs.

I have no idea what you just said.

I think he's saying someone of a non-Christian belief system complained about being told Merry Christmas, and that's why we're greeted with Happy Holiday's now.

See that's my point, how can we be tolerant of other religions, yet then say, "sorry pal, you are twisting your religious beliefs, that's not the way it is." Who are we to say those people are believing wrong. I'm certainly not going to.

Thank you for your honesty.

But you are the one who's offended when someone doesn't greet you with Merry Christmas. I'm beginning to think you simply like arguing. :p

The question at hand is tolerance? My question is how do you define tolerance?

I am a christian which means that I believe that the Son of God, (The Only God) came to Earth to sacrifice Himself for our sins and rose again on the third day.

While God was here, He taught us many things, to love our Father, to love our neighbor, and to tell others about what He has done.

I believe that tolerance comes from the second major subject that the Son taught us, love our neighbor.

Is it not more loving of a parent to take away a gun from a child and tell the child that it is harmful. In the same way, if I believe the way I do, and I do, a soul will be lost if the message is not presented to them. That to me would be the worst mistake of all, because someone called me intollerant.

In the early church many christians perished because of the message and many more will continue.

Now, we could get into the ideas of presenting the message.... which comes in tolerance...

Just remember that Jesus has Risen!!!

No, I look at that as an infringement on my rights, but sure, I love arguing. I just like pointing out how all these people who preach tolerance, aren't necessarily tolerant to every religious group. There's always the "radical" believers, whom people dub crazy.

I'll agree with everything you say, but you know people on here are going to say, "well what about all the christians that killed innocent people, and what about the christians that aggravated my 98 year old grandmother to death, blah blah blah. They preach tolerance, but they have no concept of forgiveness.

Is that your "tolerant" view.

That's the same thing every other "tolerant" person does.

That is alright, we can only hope by our example, they can understand tolerance.

As far as the grandmother statement, what a wonderful way to witness, because if you could explain why they did, maybe, they will hear and understand the message, then we have done what we were suppossed to do.

You all crack me up.

I just think people should be more tolerant of my intolerance. And why is it called grandmother statement, why not grandfather statement?

^Maybe in your eyes, but it means a lot to me when somebody says, "Hey, Merry Christmas" in a cheerful high pitch tone. And what's the deal with "Holiday tree." Me and my family sat around the old Holiday tree drinking egg nog and talking about how Jesus was born on Holliday. What happened to this country?

Celebrate!...

...Holiday!

Madonna is responsible for this.

Americans beyond Christians celebrating Christmas. Wow, it really has gone corporate. This reminds me of the time the Admiral sold a nuclear submarine to a Mr. P.N. Gwin.....without even taking his phone number or address. Shame on him.

P. N. Gwin? P. N. Gwin?

...Penguin! I knew it. To the "Bat Cave", Robin...and get Commissioner Gordon on the phone yesterday!
