November 5, 200817 yr We beat #9 at a neutral site. We beat #3 at their place. Both games were blow outs. Our "D" has given up one rushing TD. Trailed in the first quarter once 3-0. Beat a huge rival by 20 at their place.
November 5, 200817 yr Granted I think Tech is much better than Penn State I'd call those wins a wash, Kansas is a very average team. I would probably take OSU over them as well. I think Kansas and OSU are on the same level.
November 5, 200817 yr If PSU wins out they should be playing for a NC, regardless of anyone else's results. Are you serious? Just think If Tech wins out, Wins over Texas, OK State, Kansas and Oklahoma..Compared to Ohio State.

Beat a huge rival by 20 at their place. Considering that they are 4-4, not sure that arguement holds much water. Don't get me wrong I think Bama deserves to be #1 and has a much better resume than Penn St. But Clemson's ranking was just more proof that pre-season polls are meaningless.
November 6, 200817 yr I don't believe so, though I think Tech is the better team. They did beat a great Texas team at home, but they jumped from 7 to 2. It should be PSU at 2 and Tech at 3, but Tech IMO is the better team..
November 6, 200817 yr Texas Tech 63 Kansas 21 Penn State 13 Ohio State 6 Yes, that Kansas win is much more impressive. Then we agree to disagree...like I said. :thumb:
November 6, 200817 yr That's comparing Penn State's best win to Texas Tech's second best win. Tech's win over a #1 Texas team that had just defeated Oklahoma, Missouri and Oklahoma State (all ranked in the top 11 at the time) in a row is more impressive than State's win over a 7-2 OSU team. Tech's road win at 6-3 Kansas is, at the least, equal to State's win over 5-4 Illinois--and probably better. It doesn't really matter at this point, if Texas Tech loses one of it's tough games PSU will move back in front and if TT wins out they will deserve it with wins over Oklahoma State and Oklahoma anyway--correct? :sssh: Did you even bother to read the posts that led to this one, obviously not. It was said that Tech's win over KU was a better win then Penn St.'s over Ohio St. It is not, IMO. That was the comparision. Everything else you said, I said already in this forum (only I said it first). :sssh:
November 6, 200817 yr You couldn't me more wrong. Tech was rewarded for beating the #1 team. If everything fell the same and Penn St. played last weekend, they would be #2. That is my opinion. Tech won, no one is trying to take credit away. They beat Texas and they deserve a bump for it. But if they are going to move up because of that win taking into account no other factors, by that logic they should be #1 then.
