Red Sox/Rays Game 7 Updates

Featured Replies

I wonder how many of those Rays jerseys and hats I'm seeing in the crowd were bought sometime today ?

I'd say at least 50%.... I guess you gotta start somewhere.

You can't completely blame them--they had lost at least 90 every year before this one. Add to that the fact that Tampa fans are notorious bandwagoners and you can see why they stayed away in droves before now. Hopefully this will help build their fan base and it will carry over to next season. They've got a really nice team and should support it.

If Boston wins the World Series I'll change my avatar.

Because I said this series was over and talked down on your Bo Sox.

 No need to do that....You've been there win or lose...I've just been given a pretty hard time over the past couple years, not just on here, about my Red Sox fandom...It's nice to be able to give a little grief back.

I completely agree, which is why I said they have to start somewhere. It's a great story, if they were playing anyone other than my Sox, I'd probably be rooting for them.

I think a new stadium would go a long way for Tampa.

Accept the trade....:madman: :D

They're in a Catch-22 on that though. They don't sell enough tickets to warrant spending a bunch of money on a new stadium but without it they may not draw enough to justify having a team even with a good team.

^ There is no college around there that could play in it as well?

Even with a 97 win team they were only 26th in attendance this season. Something has to change there.

You won't see a Major League Baseball team share a stadium with another baseball team very often.

Rack 'em up. This game is already over. The experience of the Red Sox is going to prevail over the young Tampa Bay players.

I bet your wrong....

So is it wrong that I'm sitting at my buddies house, which I'm moving in to in December, while he's gone, drinking his beer watching the game?

Just an observation from somebody that has attended 2 games in Tampa - the stadium isn't actually in the city of Tampa. It is in St. Petersburg. That means a half-hour or more drive through bad traffic to get to the games for the folks in the city. I think it took me an hour the last time I went to get from the Tampa airport to the stadium.

^Speaking of which, I had a friend call me within the last week who wants me to go to a game with him next year against the Sox....My Tek jersey may have to be brought out for the occasion...

I highly recommend going. It was a great experience and very different from any other MLB game I've been to.
