Wow, this Freshman season has been wacky. When you look at like opponents, Dixie looses to Holmes. Camels route Holmes. Camels lose to Highlands in a tight game. Dixie routes Birds.

 

Go with Homefield advantage in this one? Maybe, except when you see that the Camels went to Cov Cath and won there.

I'm going with CC on this one. Dixie has Pike and a few more skill players but CC has more overall skilled players and a better OL.

Highlands wants the Camels to win, because that would put the Birds in the championship game

I have not seen CC play but from what I have heard Dixie's line both on offense and defense will and can match up with just about anyone. CC OLine will be put to the test.

 

It should be a good match but I give Dixie the edge as I think they have more talent then teams give them credit for. Pike is a very good player but he does has more help then you think.

 

You can not look at the Holmes games and take anything from it. Dixie had 5 turnovers 3 of which Holmes scored on and the other 2 they got inside the 10 yard line. Plus that was the first game of the seaons and Dixie had a couple of injured players that are now playing.

Campbell County won this game in OT. Dixie scored the only touchdown in the 1st half and then was the first to score in the 2nd half putting up 12 to the camels 0. Campbell scored and had an extra point blocked to make it 12-6 Dixie. Campbell scored another TD on a 2nd deep pass to Griffin giving him his 2nd TD and the camels a 12-12 tie. Dixie drove the ball but was picked off at the 15 only to have Campbell put up a drive of their own that ended in a fumble taking us to OT. In OT the camels scored and got the 2 pt. conversion on passes to Griffin. Dixie matched with a TD of their own but couldn't convert on the 2 pt. try, giving Campbell the #2 spot in their division. Highlands #1, Campbell #2, and Dixie #3. This was one of the best football games I've seen in a long long time.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Christmas came early for the Freshman Bluebirds this year with Campbell "upsetting" Dixie to put Highlands in the Championship. Best of luck to ya when that game comes around! Only wish we (Campbell) could play ya again!
