Campbell County 20 Dixie 18 OT (Frosh)

Great job Camels. IMO - Campbell is doiing a great job with the start of a youth program - which gives you the opportunity to develope them and keep them within your program - the addition of some new freshmen coaches last season is paying off. IMO more schools and communities need to have their own youth programs in place - more and more schools need to have middle school programs too if ppossible - you build sucess by developing it not hoping someone else will. Great job Camels - I see a great future for the CC program.

Thanks Campbell County! I ALMOST forgive you for beating the HHS varsity in '75. (LOL)

Great Job Campbell. They made the plays and Dixie didn't. They had plenty of opportunity to put the game away, and just couldn't do it.

Congrats, Camels! As mentioned previously, this was a realy good football game to watch. In the end, the Camels came up with the stop when they needed it most.

For Dixie, it was far from their best game of the year. Defensively, they played pretty well. The run defense was, for the most part, very good. There were some missed assignments on pass defense that, unfortunately, resulted in scores. Probably the biggest difference between this game and the last few for the Colonels defense is that the Camels offensive line did a great job blocking and pass protecting. Kudos to the Camels OL for their effort.

Offensively, the Colonels struggled. The running game was decent as Drake Bruns had 165 yards rushing in a follow up to his 185 yard effort against Highlands) but the other backs (Pike, Moore, etc) were unable to find much room to run. The Colonels were unable to complete a pass for the first time this year, which further hurt the running game.

And in no way am I trying to minimize the Camels victory, as I'm sure they had something to do with the way the Colonels played. This game was probably one of the best lessons these young Colonels have received in their short lived high school career. I have feeling they have learned from the experience and will carry it with them to future years.

Has worked for HHS for their program and on a larger scale all of the BC schools have benefitted from their youth programs.
