Paul Dunbar 29 Southwestern 27

Southwestern was without their starting QB to start with. Then their strongest offensive weapon number two went out early with a shoulder injury. The first half was called pretty good but in the second half there was some terrible missed calls then finally a braw involving every player on the field. The officials had too much input in the outcome of the game. The Warriors did not play to their potential once again, some real mental mistakes. Then take a team that doesn't show the kind of heart of previous Warrior teams, blue collar teams that loved to hit somebody. I'm sure they try but they just don't play with the same intensity. Maybe they will get it together before the season is over.

The radio said the officials did a good job.

I think 7 fumbles, coupled with injuries had a lot to do with the outcome of this game.

The score was 21-10 in favor of SW at the half. But a horrible 3Q with 5 fumbles including a snap over the punters head allowed Dunbar to take the lead 27-21. Then a late safety put Dunbar up 29-21.

SW put TT in the game and SW scored with 3 min to go. To make the score 29-27. The 2 point conversion failed.

The onsides kick did not travel 10 yards and there was an illegal touching call so Dunbar got the ball on SW 35. SW held and got the ball back with over a minute to play. But could not get it in field goal range.

Warriors need to keep your head up and get back focused on the big district showdown with PC this week.

How bad are the injuries? Hopefully they'll be okay for the big game next week with the Maroons. What was the story with the brawl--any ejections? That could hurt next week as well. That's very unlike a Warrior team to lose their composure and discipline on the field.

After the initial confortation was stopped involving several players an official was laying on Dunbars number fifty five on the ground holding him down another altercation involving several players broke out a few feet away. There were at least five security guards on the field along with coaches. There probably could have been several ejected on both teams.
