I am not sure what you mean by train stops.

You might no it as a trip stop or tripper.

I see. I have never seen one of those on CSX tracks. I don't know if they use them on other lines or not.

I got some more info. They're typically not used on freight lines because they don't work well in bad weather, especially snow. They're mostly used in subway tubes.

That makes sense. As I was looking at them, I couldn't help but wonder what would happen if there was a tree branch close to the tracks. It could create quite a mess. It is an interesting idea, though.
