September 30, 200818 yr CINCINNATI -- Running back Cedric Benson signed Tuesday with the Cincinnati Bengals, who needed another runner and were undeterred by two alcohol-related arrests in Texas that prompted the Chicago Bears to let him go. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3618613
September 30, 200818 yr Author I'm really confused with this, but I guess I shouldn't be. He was arrested two times this year. Amazing Amazing Amazing!!! I guess Shaun must be really bad. I hope he signs with Pitt and goes to the SB?
September 30, 200818 yr Lance said he was order to put a breathalyzer device on his car, and had to blow in it before it would start. Did I hear that right, is this true?
September 30, 200818 yr Lance said he was order to put a breathalyzer device on his car, and had to blow in it before it would start. Did I hear that right, is this true? Yes. Benson was later ordered by a County Judge to put a built-in ignition interlock breathalyzer in his car. He was also told to start drug counseling classes.
September 30, 200818 yr I started laughing so hard when I saw this on ESPN. WOW!!!! I understand the two drinking charges were dropped and he is free to resume his life however he wishes. With that said, the Bears dropped him knowing that they didn't have a proven running back ready to step in. Basically giving the job to rookie Forte before they eventually signed Kevin Jones as a change of pace/backup back. That should tell you all you need to know about this guy, he is a big time headache on and off the field. I can't imagine he will stick around in Cincinnati the rest of the year, with that said, the Bengals seem to be full of Cedric Benson's. Maybe he will get along fine with them, just unbelievable.
September 30, 200818 yr Yes. Benson was later ordered by a County Judge to put a built-in ignition interlock breathalyzer in his car. He was also told to start drug counseling classes. That is very sad. Nothing says alcoholic like a built-in ignition interlock breathalyzer. Oh well. It can't get much worse.
September 30, 200818 yr Author Lance said he was order to put a breathalyzer device on his car, and had to blow in it before it would start. Did I hear that right, is this true? How's that work, couldn't you just have someone else blow?
September 30, 200818 yr How's that work, couldn't you just have someone else blow? Yeah he could get someone else but thats a huge risk. I would venture to say that if caught DUI again by doing that he would probably forfeit his driving privileges for a very long time. jmo
September 30, 200818 yr If he can run the ball better than what the Bengals have so far, im all for this pickup. The Bengals have to do something. At least they are trying.
