September 30, 200818 yr So I just took one for my Intro to the Law(hate the title it's a 300 level course!) I'm feeling pretty good about it. How do you all do with exams? Do you get really nervous before exams? Do you ever feel worried if you think you did good on it? How about it folks?
September 30, 200818 yr Author I typically enjoy the feeling afterwards, but honestly I don't eat a few hours before exams if they're in the morning except maybe like a granola bar. Doing so has spelled trouble in the past.
September 30, 200818 yr I always go into exams with a positive attitude. For example, took an exam yesterday in a class that I'm not fond of and have missed class more than once, but I went in saying I was going to do well. Walked out with an 88, I'll take it.
September 30, 200818 yr Wait until you take law school exams, assuming thats your route since you are in intro the law. I puke before most every exam and I most likely need some kind of nerve pill in the weeks leading up to the exams and during exams. (In case you didn't know, in law school your entire grade is based on the final exam and it is bell curved meaning only so many people get A's, B's, C's,D's based on the size of the class. No one has to fail a class but you can fail the class if a professor so deems and that can count as the number of required D's).

I haven't had to for about 6 months, but I used to have to carry a bottle of pepto in my back pack.
September 30, 200818 yr I don't get too nervous, but I study quite a bit for tests and I generally do pretty well. I'm TERRIBLE at Science though, and I just took my first Biology exam. I got a 75% but I also got 14 bonus points to help me get a 89 overall. I'll take that any day in Biology. In my Criminal Justice classes I generally get A's on all my exams.
September 30, 200818 yr Author I'm generally a slacker and have horrible studying habits, that could be part of the problem. Although I think the older I get the better my study habits are becoming. My problem was that in HS I studied probably zero times ever. Homework was also for losers with no life. I figure by the time I'm 30 I'll be one solid college student.
September 30, 200818 yr Recently I have been studying more than the last couple semesters but no matter how much I study, I tend to freeze once I get the test/quiz in front of me. I had a Law of Mass Communications test last week that I studied for a couple hours each day but to no avail. The law questions were worded in such a way that I couldn't understand them and to make matters worse, I printed off the wrong sheet of notes for the test as well (theprofessor lets us have one sheet of notes in no smaller than 10pt font with no smaller than 1 inch margins). I got the test back today and luckily, she drops one of the four test scores. My Newswriting I class is another story (no pun intended). We have AP style quizzes each week and I don't tend to have any problems with those since I have been writing in AP style for a couple years now. The one thing that I hate is when professors won't give you at least some kind of hint as to how the test might be like. I'm not asking for a complete sample test but maybe if there is going to be essay questions, a good example and a bad example answer would definitely help out.
September 30, 200818 yr I have midterms next week and at Berea they give you two days off for classes to study before the exams. I hate studying for the exams because I get to bored which usually causes me to do not so well on them at times:sssh:

I'd use the first to study a little and catch up on my sleep....which I don't get much of right now....and the second day is when I'd hit the books hard for a couple hours at a time with taking about a 30 minute break in between sessions. I find that I can't study for more than a couple hours at a time without having to take a break to allow things to soak in.

Because somehow I have a feeling when you say you get too bored, you really mean you turn on your xbox.

September 30, 200818 yr Author I know that's what I was referring to. Don't worry you haven't missed much, it was down all day Monday for maintenance.
October 1, 200818 yr Taken two so far, both for my last two major classes. Actually stayed in on a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night to make sure I knew the material (especially since one of the tests was on Monday... Got B's on both.
