If you were the Vikings...

Featured Replies

Why would you not be on the phone with the Bengals right now trying to work out a trade for Carson and Chad?? If I was their GM, I would offer my whole upcoming draft (Picks 1-7) and my first rounder for the year after for those two. The Bengals are gonna suck for awhile anyways, might as well rebuild.

The Vikings were partly responsible for the Cowboys 3 titles in 4 years, so it would make perfect sense to give the Bengals the same deal and yet Cincinnati would find a way to get 7 of the worst players in the draft.

I honestly think the Vikings are fine right now. If I'd do anything, I'd try to talk Daunte Culpepper out of retirement. They just beat a good Carolina team, and I'm still sticking with my prediction of them winning the NFC.

They need a QB BAD and they will not go to the Super Bowl without a good one. They need a QB like Carson. Plus, it would do Carson good to have a change of scenery...

IMO they may and try to trade for Derek Anderson. He may not be the solution but if Quinn steps in then there is no way that Anderson stays in Cleveland.

That is another option too, and he will be much cheaper. But he also isn't as good as Carson. The recievers aren't as good for the Vikings either, which is why Chad's name was included.

Let J.D. Booty take a few snaps..

After the season, they could trade for Cassel of the Pats or maybe go get Anderson or Quinn from Cleveland. Of course I still think they should let Jackson play out the rest of this season. He may just need time.

Although that may be ideal for Minnesota I doubt it would happen, especially a package for both. I guess Bengal fans can dream.

Bengals fans can dream? I don't think getting rid of Carson is a good thing for the Bengals at all. The Viking fans would be the ones dreaming.

If I would the GM, I would at least make a call.

I hear what you are saying, but trades in the NFL (especially during the regular season) are few and far in between.

What do Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Jeff Hostetler, Mark Rypien, and Doug Williams all have in common? They're Super Bowl winning Quarterback. And I don't consider any of those 5 to be good solid quarterbacks. I think if they can sneak into the playoffs with a 9-7, 10-6 type record, then their defense could get them to the promise land. I've heard a ton of Bengals fan wanting rid of Carson Palmer saying they need a fresh QB. Maybe drafting one.

You don't consider them to be "good or solid"? They have to be. But the Vikings defense isn't as good as Tampa's or Baltimore's the years that they won it, and Peterson will be hurt and miss some time during the season because defenses do not have to play the pass against them. They need a better QB and Gus is not the answer.

Who would they go for you think?

Stafford?

Painter?

Bradford?

McCoy?

Sanchez?
