I don't believe I would put Stenzel as a big man. I think most would agree with me. A lot of the big men I named will need to learn to play on the perimeter even more at the next level to be successful because of their size. A player like Phares seems to have some perimeter skills as well as being able to dominate inside. I believe he can make the transition to the 3 spot in college fairly smoothly on the offensive end anyways. On the other hand a guy like Collins will be inside wherever he goes.

If Darren Ballou improves his ballhandling I think he could play the 3 spot at Div I.

Phares is the best I have seen.

 

Euton has only shown me he can hit a "set" 3 point shot. I just don't see Euton being able to guard anyone in the SEC since Billy G. likes to play mostly man-to-man nor getting open for any shots. Hopefully he will prove me wrong because we have used a scholarship on him.

 

Knipp does not like any physical play and often hangs out on 3 point line to avoid contact.

 

Zollo, I am hoping he is more athletic and better than the video shows. When you are a big man in the SEC you better be able to rip the rim off when you shoot crip shots. He was only shooting layups in videos and not getting close to the rim on them. He won't get a shot off in D1 if this is his way of shooting inside.

Phares is the best in the state IMO. Anybody hear anything about this 6'11" transfer that Bryan Station got? I heard that from somewhere, trying to confirm it.

I saw the Bryan Station transfer this summer (unless it is a different guy). He was 6'9"...maybe 6'10", a junior, played OK, but not going to change the balance of the 11th region this year anyway, but a good guy to have on a team.

Richie Phares is the best post player I have seen. He is athletic with upside. I think he needs to improve his ability to go left. From what I have observed, most times when he is forced left, he has problems. He needs to be able to finish with his left hand. I have seen him absolutely light it up from the 3 pt line, but seems to be very streaky from that range. I do believe he will get better in the years to come.

 

Andy Donovan is a player that I think will show he has improved over the summer. At 6'8" he can present match up problems as he is a very good long range shooter, has good enough handles and quickness to take someone off the dribble, especially other big men. A little more comfortable facing the basket than with his back to the basket. A very good mid range shooter as well. Has learned to play solid man to man defense and is much improved as a post defender.

Ive not seen him in person. I have seen a lot of highlights of him. Ive also talked to other people who have seen him play.

How about the kid from Taylor Co, isn't he pretty good? I thought he played well this summer.

Macon. He is a nice player, and a great athlete, but when I have seen him before he didn't seem that skilled. As far as being athletic, strong and jumping good hes impressive though.
