September 17, 200818 yr I assume most UofL fans on here are hoping it's Favre, because a good season by Rodgers means Brohm may never get a chance there. Bottomline is the Packers are a heck of a lot better of a team than the Jets, and for that reason alone, Rodgers will have the better season. Well, I want to see Brohm do well, but for the most part, I could care less how well his NFL team does (unless he plays for the Steelers). I already have my favorite team and am not going to switch it because of one player I liked in college; and I can't understand why anyone else would. (I guess that's why I found it so ridiculous when the Commonwealth's favorite NBA team suddenly became the expansion Charlotte Hornets some 20 years ago.)
September 17, 200818 yr I agree with your post, except I don't think the talent was that bad then. I just think they were in the process of re-building the roster with young talent and it hadn't developed yet. I remember Favre saying during the 8-8 season that the Packers had as much talent as any he'd played on, but they were all so young he didn't know how they'd play. When it did start to come around, they played great down the stretch and then carried that over to a 13 win season and NFC Championship game appearance last season. That's why I believe Green Bay forced Favre to decided early about playing or not and once he didn't, there was no turning back. There's too much young talent on that roster to waste it by letting Favre flip-flop about playing. With Rodgers, this team is set to be an NFC power for the foreseeable future...had they let Favre come back and start, they likely lose Rodgers and end up wasting a Super Bowl roster trying to find a QB. Good point, and even further reinforces my post. :thumb:

I was a Jordan/Bulls fan from the time I was old enough to watch basketball. I hated the Lakers when I was a kid. After Magic retired though, we had one of those huge satellite dishes and it would pick up feeds of nearly every Lakers game. All during high school, I'd stay up and watch them until about 1:00 when they played and I became a big fan. Cedric Ceballos was my favorite player (they also had Nick Van Exel, Eddie Jones, and a few others). So, once Reinsdorf turned me against Chicago forever, I just elevated the Lakers to the top spot...but even that wasn't enough to make me like Shaq. Let me tell you, it's very conflicting when one of your least favorite players goes to your favorite team.
September 18, 200818 yr I think Favre has the better season when it is all said and done. I just think teams will eventually get a game plan to stop Rodgers and right now there just isn't enough tape yet. The more a guy plays, the more teams tend to figure him out and gameplan better for his style. He is playing very well and he has weapons, so I could totally miss this one but I just don't see him being better than Favre this year.

September 18, 200818 yr Rodgers looks very much like a young Farve. Since Rodgers is on a better team I would expect him to have better numbers. :thumb::thumb::thumb:
September 18, 200818 yr Rodgers should have the better season. He knows the system/players/coaches and has much more talent around him.
