McCain up 10 points now??

Featured Replies

Can't see either one having much of a lead the rest of the way out. Important thing is the electoral vote, which I haven't seen in a while.

You're exactly right. Again, I'd like to see polling for the 8-10 more important swing states. That would give a much better idea of who is winning and losing; much more so than a national poll.

To be fair, there is only one poll showing that kind of jump. Most polls show a more normal convention bounce. The race was a deadlock before either convention and it is a deadlock now.
I'm all about fair... that's why I didn't take you up on it. :thumb:

The safe points to make are, the Reps are rolling, the Dems are pulling no punches, this thing will be interensting right down to the wire.

I wonder if its too late for Obama to ditch Biden and add Hillary to the ticket?

What about co-VP's?!

Historical convention bounces:

As with any bounce, the polls trend up, then back down. I still hold that Palin wasn't a selection a confident campaign makes. Her novelty quelled Obama's bounce and drove viewers to the RNC - that was the upside to the gamble. The downside is when the warm and fuzzies are gone and voters look at policies. The campaign can win if she can hit on target with her politics, but again, that's the gamble.

Fastbreak, I think you are crowing a bit much over one poll. Besides, I don't have a mortgage. You can claim your winnings by stepping outside and breathing in that fresh Kentucky air. :jump:

I don't put a lot of credit to any poll but I have to say that this is quite a jump for McCain from where he was a couple of weeks ago to a jump like this says alot. Hopefully that people are on to the Obama propoganda machine. Palin imo is what the McCain campaign needed, she is a new face, not the same ol' same ol' politics like we are used to seeing and does not care who's toes that she steps on. (or how many styrofoam greek columns that she tears down :D).

Obama claims "Change" , McCains campaign has produced it ;). Palin has already shook up everyone and I especially love how she has really shook up the media (MSNBC, NBC and CNN especially) and then called them out on the main stream media and Obama's camp bashing of her.

They (media and the Obama camp) cannot stand the fact that they weren't "in the know" on McCains vp pick then she let them know that she was not going to be intimidated by the smear campaign they had launched. Obama's major Hollyweird production of an acceptance speech is now imo only a forgotten commercial.

I love fresh air, and I understand that polls are only as dependable as who takes them and the methodology used.

Crowing over a poll today when the real deal is in November is like crowing that my team is number one in preseason polls and the first game has yet to be played.

That doesn't diminish the fact that several polls show a significant post convention bump for my team, and I'm happy about it.

There's more gas in the tank than I thought there might be at this time... that's all. :thumb:

:thumb: Well said.

Too long to go...

Still comes down to the electoral college and that is very close.
