Finally is all I can say.. Good job boys.

Simpson is a stud. He'll run you over, and he'll run around you. He also hits the hole very hard. His two 80 yard runs started up the middle then bounced it outside, and a couple mistackles later, he was going 80 yards down the sideline. Bustle also had a few nice runs, however, the passing game needs work. Either his throws were off, or the line didn't give him any time to throw. Until they fix it, they will not win 6A in NKY.

 

For Dixie, it looks to be a long season. Defensively, way too many missed tackles. The kids keep going in high, and the ball carrier will either bounce off them or carry them for an extra 5 or so yards. The new 3-4 defense will be a thing to watch this year. Offensively, the line struggled big time. SK was putting pressure on the qb all night long. Way to often did a defender, or two, come up the middle untouched. As for the QB situation, it looks like Spritzky is testing the waters. Wilson has the strongest arm, however, DeMatteo looks much more poised. When DeMatteo came in, the offense marched right down the field, but then shot themselves in the foot with a fumble. When dropping back to pass, he scans the field and can sense the pressure better than Wilson. Wilson seems to eye one receiver. DeMatteo also ran the option better. IMO, they are better off with DeMatteo at qb, and then take Wilson and move him to receiver. He's too good of an athlete to be sitting on the bench, plus they need someone that can catch the ball.
