Man, you better sit down and rest. :D

I gave birth to a kidney stone last week. I don't think I've de-toxed from all the drugs yet.

I don't see how you can say that. It's a gaffe that has mushroomed until it was called into question. (Whether it was Palin or McCain, it is being used by the same team)

DD has a point, I just agree with most that it makes no real bearing on the campaign. It's no different than Obama saying we are in a Recession when technically we aren't. He's playing on the feeling of recession and using the word.

The GOP is playing on the appearance of government fiscal responsibility and using it to inspire their side. Technically, neither statements are true. Politically they are probably working to some extent.

No, DD has no point whatsoever. She claimed she put it on eBay, she did. She NEVER claimed it sold on eBay, the only point that matters. No matter how hard one might try to spin the comment, they're wrong and know full well they are.

McCain's statement was incorrect. Palin's statement was correct and it was not misleading in any way. Anybody who claims that the country is in a recession is incorrect and deliberately misleading. I am sure that Obama knows the definition of a recession and that he knows that we cannot possibly be in a recession by definition.

So the fact that McCain spun it falsely in that Wisconsin speech yesterday isn't perpetuating the myth that DD was speaking of?

You can split the hair and say that Palin didn't say it (and be right) but McCain DID say it that way (and he was spreading the myth). Same team, irregardless of which part of the ticket said "She sold it on EBay for a profit."

That's what I was getting at. Obama is playing the "feel factor."

So is McCain on the "plane on Ebay for profit," story/myth. Palin is innocent, but McCain isn't. Again, same team. Whether it's the QB or the RB, it's the same team.

Both are wrong IMHO.

I'd call it a gaffe. Yes, DD said Palin said it, not McCain. He misspoke, no big deal.

I would give McCain the benefit of the doubt if he made the statement once. If he continues to overstate the facts, then I will agree that he is deliberately lying because I would assume that Palin or his staff would have corrected him by now.

Palin pledged to put the plane on eBay and that if it did not sell there to find another way to sell it and that is exactly what she did. In fact, the plane was listed twice on eBay and only sold elsewhere when it failed to sell there.

I've read through this entire thread, shaking my head that anyone has the time or courtesy to continue responding to this fluff. (Myself included... )

Party line wonks like Howard Dean, Terry McCauliffe, Arianna Huffington, Michael Moore, Al Franken, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Paul Begala, James Carville, et al have yet to come up with anything substantive to legitimately weaken the momentum generated by the addition of Palin to the Republican ticket, so they’ve stooped to slinging mud… any mud, just hoping something sticks… or at the very least raise doubts among the marginally aware.

Senate and House leaders Pelosi and Reid preside over a Democrat led "do nothing" Congress that is the lowest rated in history which some polls place as low as 12% to 14% approval. Hillary, Obama, Biden and yes, McCain all serve in that very low rated Congress. After two years as Alaska’s governor, Sarah Palin enjoys an approval rating of over 80%, by the people who know her better than anyone.

This is yet another a non-issue that only reveals fear and desperation from folks who are masters at making mountains out of mole hills.

I love it… :thumb:
