See, I'm not so sure it "should" matter. We all weight things differently, see things differently, approach things differently from different backgrounds and experiences.

 

If someone from Wyoming wants to vote for Palin because what matters to him/her is character and the character trait that he/she believes best defines a person is are they and outdoorsman who wields guns, then Palin hunting moose may weight very heavily. "I'm votin' for Palin cuz she killz her own food."

 

On the other hand, the thing most important to person from the Betlway might be that a person can never lead who is cruel to animals, so "I'm not votin' for Palin because she savagely slaughters innocent, brown-eyed moose babies."

 

We just can't ever tell. The brand of beer McCain drinks may genuinely make or break a vote in the eyes of some man who feels like a "real" man wouldn't drink a foreign beer.

 

I'll tell you this, I certainly don't want the "bar" for why a person "should" or "should not" cast his/her vote to be set by the generally elitist snobs (both liberal and conservative) in university academia, and I will say that it does seem like voices from that crowd who seem to yell loudest about the so-called 'Bubba' vote.

For me, it is not the only reason but as a Sportsman it goes a long way in my decision.

I'm on the record as saying I don't care why someone votes. We can't (and should not ) implement a test to see if you're qualified.

If you are an avid hunter or believe in your right to own a firearm, of course it is a good reason considering the alternative.
